@alliswell,  those vestibules are fantastic!  The first one with the greek key floor, and the tracery in the windows, and the second with that stately architecture and weathered brick floor--  swoon!

Ours is a vestibule as well, with a single, many-paned french door that opens into the house.  It is good to have that sort of transition space, as you say.  But ours was added on to the 1910 cottage in (we think) maybe the 30's or 40's, and is unheated.  It's one of the last thing we've got to tackle, with removing wallpaper and replacing floor, aagh.  Your images are lovely inspiration.

I like all of them..different styles and decor for various homes. They are all well done IMO.

We have a very open home with an area that you walk in to. It has a top upholstered large galvanized chest/bench, nautical table and lamp,  and a tall sea grass plant....we live on the Bay.

I really like them all, they are all different, yet appealing in their own way. I really dislike when homes  have no entry way at all, you just walk straight into the Living Area.. We had that in our very 1st home, and I said never again!

I like that bit of separation between rooms!

@alliswell  I too greatly appreciate a vestibule entry. Such a shame it seems they most often exist with older or custom homes. They offer such a good transition space.

The bench is a good fit for the tight space, and the metal tub and lavender plant go well with it.  But it is awkward to get to the bench with the tub, and especially the boots, in the way.  But maybe the metal tub serves as a doorstop to keep the door from swinging into the bench or into a person sitting on the bench.

The basket on the wall - which by the way looks like a pet bed, with the higher side forming the shelf - is maybe a place to set down gloves, scarves, and hats.

All of these entryways are lovely and have appeal.  The entryway introduces you to the home and I feel it should reflect your taste and decor.  My entryway is not what I would like it to be.  It has family photos , lots of decor and one piece of furniture that I decorate seasonally.  However, I need to take away a couple of things in it and have more space.
