Designer Jean Stoffer of Grand Rapids, Michigan famously specializes in kitchens, and has done such interesting ones in old houses. This house seems to be a baronial old pile, with soaring beams, stunning windows, internal balconies, etc.
The muted stone of the counter and backsplash coordinates nicely with the almond color of the painted cabinetry. Beiges with pinky undertones ( as opposed to green or golden undertones) can be tricky. Here they've used chocolate brown in the floor finish and the breakfast nook's chairs too, which also has a pinkish undertone, so the brown and beige play nicely and don't fight with each other...
One thing I would have done is used a more muted, tarnished brass for the brushed and polished hood. Jean Stoffer likes to throw in the occasional modern look in accessories, and in lighting as well...
Window seat-breakfast nook is an absolute wow! I'd want to take all my meals there...
I wish they'd given a better view of this antique mantel on the right. The trim and wood in this kitchen is so striking.

East GR is a very affluent area. No wonder those folks can afford designers and kitchens this luxurious 😊

I wondering these affluent folks own a refrigerator or do they just stick food in a snow bank? I don't see one..

Great kitchen! I especially like the beautiful floors, the window seat breakfast nook, the way they did the backsplash, and what I can see of the fireplace. I like that pretty cabinet in the corner too. I'm sure the rest of the home is lovely too.

Lots of money involved in this space. Yikes!
I lOVE the stove, fabulous! Not a fan of the dark floors and woodwork.

This had me at the windows. Beautiful!!
I would work, read and eat at that lovely nook.
The only thing I'm confused a bit on is the chair. Looks comfy though! ![]()
Another lovely post @Oznell thank you!

Such a lovely kitchen! Typically I am not fond of dark floors, but I do like them here. Thank you @Oznell.
