@chlema No - Never saw a honey bee. I don't think they are very active at night - like mosquitoes and moths. Those two are attracted to night lights - like up around your outside porch lights. They swarm and anxious to get closer.
Now I can't say a lightening bug hasn't gotten in there in peak season of July - but once 'fried' kind of hard to tell. I certainly haven't seen them near the zapper. This machine has an outside protective 'gate' of metal - bugs have to fit through that to reach the electrical charge. ZAP and sparks fly - especially fat moths.
Love Love my machine - think you will too Price is right!

@sunshine9602 wrote:I bought a Dynatrap XL three years ago and paid about 170 for it. It worked for two summers but when I went to plug it in last spring it didnt light up so I replaced it with the set of extra bulbs that came with it. Well they didnt work. I contacted the company and they said it must be the ballast and they wanted 65 for me to send it back to them to fix it. It would have cost probably 20 dollars each way to ship the big thing. The total would have been over 100. No way was I going to invest that much money which would have been at that point almost 300 counting the purchase price. These things are too expensive to only last through two seasons. I even ask if they would send me the ballast so I could install and they said yes for 35 but they would not send me instructions on how to install it. I wasnt going to spend 35 on a ballast that I wouldnt know how to install and then that might not fix it. There should be a five year warranty on these expensive trappers. It worked but as I said the company or QVC should replace these things that don't last any longer than that or at least offer to sell me a replacemnt for a discounted price. Love most of my QVC items and I am a loyal customer spending thousands a year. Please consider contacting this company about their customer service and warranties. I would love to have another one but I need to know it will last more than two seasons. Thanks.
I posted about the short life we consumers are getting out of the things we purchase. I was hoping to get more people behind me about this trend. I’d like to see those of here that are tired of paying money for junky products take a united stand against this.

@Mindy D I paid a lot for a pre lit Christmas tree and it only worked one year. Took me 4 hours to remove all the lights. The tree is beautiful but now I string my own lights. Will never buy a pre lit tree again.
