Love that field stone! I think there is so much one can do with it! I like the changes, looks fresh and updated.

@NickNack Good for you.  It feels good to switch things around and swap new pieces in.  Keep playing and you'll find the right notes.  I have a tendency to keep the status quo once I've figured out a good arrangement.  You may have put a bug in my ear to do a bit of a decorating shakeup.

Either window treatment sounds good to me.

Best wishes as your project continue and have fun with it.

I've been doing some redecorating/updating too!  We painted our family room...finally (the entire interior needs painted).  Just couldn't stand my almost 20 years old couch and sofa any longer and got a new sectional with a large over sized ottman in the middle instead of a table.  Also got new area rug, end table and curtains.  Still looking for new lamps.  I know what I like when I find it, and it takes me a long time to find what I like.  We liked the living room so much, we decided to go ahead and paint the dining room and formal living room.  We were going to wait a while but we were on a roll.  Finally took down the heavy drapes the previous owners had up in both rooms.  There are shutters in DR and LR and I'm not planning on putting up and curtains.  I like how clean and open it all looks now.  I found a sofa and 2 chairs for the LR but right now I'm waiting to see if there will be a good sale for Labor Day.  Right now we have me husbands grandfathers couch and sofa in there.  We didn't have a formal LR in our old house.  Still a lot to do but I'm excited.

I love all the different vases.

Do you have photos of the shades you are considering?  Would the roman shades be a cloth pattern?

Thank you @VaBelle35 .  These are the Roman shades that I want, and this is the color.  They are linen and cotton.  I think I would rather have these than the seagrass blinds.

Your pieces blend right into the stone. Beautiful fireplace! I would set a painting with some color on the mantel (don’t need to hang) in between the vase & candleholder. Maybe try to center it by eliminating some objects. Would add color.

Thank you @HB glamma .  At one point I had a painting on the mantel.  My cat can get up on the mantel, and I wouldn't be able to have something like that now.  I can't keep him off.  He doesn't do it often, but he does get up there.

I love it, @NickNack

It's lovely and very organic. Not everything "needs" color. It's your house.

I agree but do like the idea of something in the middle with some height and that picks up a little of the color in your furniture, rug etc.   Very pretty though.

@NickNack  Your choices are lovely. I like the Roman shade too. Redecorating is so satisfying, isn't it? It's like a part of ourselves gets refreshed along with our home. And it's often artistic expression. Enjoy your decorating journey.

You have a beautiful fireplace and I like the neutral items you have chosen.  They are very pretty but they don't take away from the focal point of the room which is the fireplace.

I think your mantle is tastefully done.

@NickNack   What a beautiful fireplace.  I especially like the black jar vase with the ****** willows.  Can you tell me where you are getting the new vase you haven't received yet?  That one is really speaking to me!

Thank you @jubilant .  I found all three vases at Pottery Barn.
