Here's a four-poster pet bed, for the "diva" in your life...

So yeah...some upcycled stuff does turn out tacky. ::shrug::

I love the bookcase made of shutters. That is a great idea!

I do have difficulty throwing things out when I see another potential use for them. Not so much the plastic bottles, etc., but lamp parts off a broken lamp, or spindles off an old broken headboard, old wooden picture frames, etc. I don't usually get very far with "creating" things from my ideas, though.

My mom holds onto a lot of that stuff too...to a fault. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Some of it is really hard to understand. She isn't interested in scrapbooking, but she has all this scrapbooking stuff. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

...and no kitty has to feel embarrassed.

No. I might occasionally repaint or refinish a piece of furniture, but I'm not 'craft-sy' so don't often use one thing to make something else... Just not part of my DNA. I'd have to say that unless done very well, I personally think most re-purposed stuff is, well, not always that appealing.

I agree that some of it is...hard to look at. {#emotions_dlg.blink}

mistri, thanks for sharing these ideas. The jewelry stand made out of the bottom of bottles is quite unique and cute.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting these pics. Certainly gives ideas for those that enjoy repurposing.

These days, a lot of people don't have much extra money.

I figure it's a fun way to have a hobby without spending much $$.

It's also fun to create something out of "junk," isn't it?

I do that too. My mom thinks it looks tacky, and buys small trash bags for her little garbage cans. I said, "Mom...why don't you use the numerous free shopping bags you have all over the place for everyday, and just use the store-bought bags when company is coming (which is rare)?" Why pay for something you can get free when it's only going to be thrown away? ::shrug::
