When ashtrays became passé, I bought every heavy lead crystal ones I could find in thrift stores.........and use them under pillar candles

Not yet, but I am OBSESSED with all the furniture ideas that can be made with wooden pallets. My issue is that (a) I have no way to get the pallets home and (b) I have no construction skills! I can dream though!

No. I might occasionally repaint or refinish a piece of furniture, but I'm not 'craft-sy' so don't often use one thing to make something else... Just not part of my DNA. I'd have to say that unless done very well, I personally think most re-purposed stuff is, well, not always that appealing.
