Definitely leaves. We put our leaves in and take them out all the time. I can do it easily all by myself, and I’m no power lifter.

My table is banquet sized, with 3 leaves. Got it second hand for $100 a zillion years ago. Duncan Phyfe style mahogany- LOVE!

I store my extra leaves and table pads under the bed in our guest room. 

I was also lucky enough to find an oak kitchen table with one leaf (round/oval) at a local resale store with 4 swivel chairs.
