I often see people here saying that they couldn't sleep under a chandelier, or have something "weighty" hanging above a headboard.

I saw this dining nook and I wondered what you thought of the hanging shelves loaded with books and ceramic pieces.

Would you forget about them, like out of sight out of mind, or would you be worried about dining underneath them?

@lolakimono  not worried about sitting under them, however, it I felt the least bit that we were having an earthquake, I would be out of there!

I like this little dining area.  I wouldn't have a problem dining in the area.  The hooks look substantial and I doubt they would fall.

Although guess it's a possibility.

No I would be fine dining under them. It looks like a nice cozy spot!

I sleep under a chandelier.  Should I be worried?  Smiley Very Happy

I like it and, as long as the person hanging knew what they were doing, I'm good.

I would not spend much time at that table- not because of the shelves above, but because the chairs look very uncomfortable.

Yes, I am someone who has a light weight mirror hanging above my bed. In my previous house I had a small chandelier suspended above the bed but was sure to have it handing above my feet, although if it fell it might have landed on the dog!

@lolakimono   I like the space.  No concern about being beaned from things falling.  It is having to get up there and dust that stuff.  I abhor dusting.

There are many things that I didn't know were a "thing" until I read about them here.Cat Surprised

I would REALLY love to see the interiors of some of our posters' homes because there are a lot of "rules" that people have.

Re: Dine at your own Risk

I have no problem showing some of mine.  I think I shared some when I moved in but I will be happy to share again and get critiqued myself.  I realy don't mind anyone else's opinion since I live there and like it.  Smiley Tongue

That is the neatest idea.  You see large paintings hung on rails, but never shelving.

Seems like it could be made to allow addons.

Assume there must be other hardware for other decor.
