@wagirl - At least you got it the way you want it for now and maybe you'll be able to use it at your new place too.

I only get pedicures and I enjoy chosing a color that strikes my fancy. I have a lot of colors I never use ( red) and a lot that are just permanent favorites, so it's important for me to know how to preserve those that are no longer made. Glad I found the nail polish thinner tip on some polish websites.
I consider getting a monthly pedicure a good health practice to keep my toenails and the skin of my lower legs, feet, and toes in good shape. The color makes it all fun.
As Halloween is coming up, I'm going to go for a sparkly black and silver next. Or maybe a true pumpkin orange or true spooky purple. !

I set aside to donate a pair of rubber muck boots that had belonged to one of my boys and are now too small.
I put in the trash 2 fold up, bag type chairs that have been sitting outside for who knows how long. They were full of dirt, leaves and pine needles. I don't know when they were last used. We have plenty of newer, nicer chairs in the garage if we need them.
I am working on organizing my pantry and I'm trying to get rid of some of the junk that I know we won't eat. I donated a few things to a local food pantry. I have a few things I am going to give my chickens or my dog. I tossed a couple of things that couldn't really go to either. I hate wasting food but once in a while it is inevitable. I need to cut back on buying for a while and work on using what we have.

It helps me a lot to start eating the food in the freezer instead of shopping for a week or two

I had a bunch of dried flowers in the garage, so today I harvested the seeds for next year.

Years ago I got an infection from getting a pedicure and to this day I am afraid to have another. Silly, I know, but that was painful!
I remember from watching QVC years ago the following Joan Rivers had for her nail polish. I am not married to any particular brand of polish, usually picking up OPI or Essie. Currently my toes are sporting Essie Bordeaux--a deep burgundy. When I tire of dark toes, I use a very pale lavendar.
@SactoSue thanks for the tip of using a nail polish thinner. I will be on the lookout for it.

I can't really bend my knee well enough to do my own nail trimming so I appreciate the care my pedicurist takes. Going to a good salon and becoming a regular client has worked out well for me. I have Orly, OPI, and Butter London polishes and always bring my own for her to use. I bring several colors and test them out on my hands while she works on my nails and together we choose the color. I like having her input as she sees how colors really do or don't work.

I actually see both sides on the pedicure subject.
I've been doing my own since before Covid, 2019 is the last time I had a professional pedicure, which I always enjoyed getting every few months, mostly in summer. It is a nice treat, and yes, you do have to go to a reputable salon but stuff can still happen.
I know my foot doc doesn't recommend my going back, because that's one of the reasons I didn't go for so long...I also contracted one of those dreadful nail fungus infections, under one toe...that lasted YEARS of trying various topical drugs to kill it, to no avail, until fiinally two rounds of very expensive Jublia did it. Worth it!! But SO expensive. I got the tiniest bottle for $100, a 1 ounce bottle was $800. Insane...but hence...our U.S. drug system.
That said....FINALLY GONE!! I'd like to keep it so!
Will I ever get another pedicure ....I'd like to. Did that infection come from one to begin with...who knows!
@SactoSue You make a good point to bring your own polish...I never thought about that, that bacteria from others could live in those. I always just thought of the tub etc.
Anyway...been doing my own, and they look nice...but unlike my fingernails, which I actually prefer the way I file my nails and do them better than the salon...but the pedicures in the salon do look more professional and perfect than my home ones. Either way, it's fine.
I would HATE to get another infection, they take forever to get rid of...I literally had mine for about 8 years of it getting a little better, then worse again until that Jublia finally worked!! Wish the first doc had recommended that to begin with, but tried two other, useless for me, topicals first.

Purged my pantry last week...
And now I'm starting my "Seasonal Closet Switch," so I'll be taking more items to my friend's clothes closet that her church runs. ![]()

I’m probably not the only one who has accumulated a good collection of sunglasses over the years. I went through mine and decided to donate ten pairs with some of the cases. I might donate the rest of them if I like the prescription transition lenses when I try them out.
I also have a little step ladder where the bottom step is only a half step. It should have gone last time I donated, but DH was hesitant. That half step is uncomfortable and possibly unsafe for us, so let someone more agile find it for a good price at the thrift shop.
My DH found five shirts that he no longer wears and decided to donate those. I wish I could let go of clothes so easily!
