Wow @KathyM23 ...even with your health issues, you've done far more than I have lately! Good for you. Hope you are feeling better.

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

I've taken some time off from decluttering, but I think I need to get back to it.  I’m so glad to see how many of you are still here and making progress.  I’m reading everything I missed because It motivates me, so I’m way back in April catching up.

I’ve been inspired to toss three decorative pillows. Before I could wash them, I needed to repair some holes so stuffing wouldn’t come out in the washer.  I don’t need them anymore, and I didn’t want to sew them!

They’ve sat on the floor all summer long.  So I tossed them after reading here.  Thanks for helping me not trip over them anymore.

I also filed some paperwork that I needed to write on first and got that done!

But I’m encountering stumbling blocks.  I’m very familiar with Justin Case these days.

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

My son stopped by yesterday for a short visit. The grass trimmer that we had given him broke so hubby gave him another one. He took a couple of notebooks for school. I still have some extra school supplies here from years of buying them super cheap for back to school.

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

I have a friend who always used to say "slow by slow"...that's how my seasonal changeover and purging bit by little bit is going...but it is going...and I am feeling one part "hold onto things!" and other part "oh just get serious about what you are actually EVER wanting to wear again, already!!" ...leaning toward the latter.

That said....I poop out early, because whenever I start these things, things get so in disarray, if I turn it into a full out project, so bit by bit I go instead.

Today...more shredding and will empty shredder.

Set aside to donate, consign, or have tossed:

2 tops

1 skirt

1 brand new with tags pair of jegging/pants (I mentioned before but had not tried them on yet & pulled the trigger.) Nice jeggings, white, Tribal, pull on, beautiful material, design details & fit...but I own them in a sagey/taupe which I still wear, but don't like the white on me as much and have other white pants I'd prefer to wear, so, I'd never reach for these. Even with those sage ones...I need to be careful to "update" style them... jeggings are still being sold and shown...but you've got to try to update how you style a skinnier pant.

I'm on the mission, trying on shoes, jeans, really everything. Some things I'm bugged with myself that I'm still clinging to, though I have not worn them in a while, so I may need to get tougher with myself before this is over!

But that's it for today...gotta head out soon, and it's too gorgeous a day here in CT to do this longer today.

Hope everyone's having a nice Sunday.

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

[ Edited ]

Cleaned out my freezer this morning of old saved fruit (for smoothies.) I consolidated what was still good. Now I need to buy protein powder so I can start making some smoothies with it all again!

Tried on a few sweaters yesterday, I thought I might let go of...nope. Still want them for now. I realized, the reason I don't wear everything often, (so you might think, you're not wearing it...purge it!) is simply...I love fashion/clothing, so I have a lot. My "stock" exceeds my need, I guess. I do have some things I wear more often than others, as they fit my everyday lifestyle best...ie. workout wear, casual clothing, denim, and dresses in summer. But doesn't mean I don't still want or need the other occasional items, and will still try to make a point to wear them more. It's just a lot to rotate through. I have a Dennis Basso, pretty pink blazer I thought would be a staple for me this spring, summer...still has the tags on it. Same with an Amazon white blazer from a few years ago! I'm shocked...I'm such a jacket gal, that these have gone unworn. I do wear a Louis Del'olio navy blazer I own, all the time.

Do I need as much? Not really, I guess....but I love clothing.

Seems I've bought a lot this year.

Still trying to cull it, and go through it all...we'll see.

(@gidgetgh I guess I am with clothing, the way you feel about your love for bags, and how hard it is for you to part with them...still you've done a good job doing so.)

BF gave me about 8 large hardcover books to donate to my library...and darn it if I didn't JUST miss, yesterday, the cutoff for this quarter's donations (their fall book sale is in a week)...they don't start taking donations again until Oct. 14! So now those will live in the car trunk for now. I'll look at my books once more before then.

And that's it for now. Have a good day everyone.

I am so sorry for your continued health challenges. But way to go on your decluttering! I always feel so much "lighter" when I do any kind of purge and hope you do too!

I hope you soon have a full recovery!

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

It's a good thing I don't have to "switch out" my closet with the fluctuating weather here. It was 90° in Minneapolis today but we have also had some cool gray days.

I have been driving past this tree lately and decided to take a picture on my way home from the grocery. It is kind of a standout for its leaves turning colors this early and it's a sign of what's to come.😥

Just beautiful tree, and I see leaves starting to fall here while weather persists in 90s and dry.  I am not quite ready for full fledged fall but I love that season.

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

I went thru a tote filled with tops that are just a tad bit too small. I only found 3 to donate. I'm trying to drop a couple of pounds so I will hopefully be able to wear some of them soon. Most of them are short sleeved so they will actually probably wait til next spring/summer.

I also set aside a brand new tube of sunsceen to donate and I tossed another tube of sunscreen that was open. They were given to me, same brand, and I don't care for it.

Added two more tops to the white jeggings donation bag and dropped it off yesterday.

Tossed an old summer casual top that I liked, but had a small hole in it, so couldn't donate, and with SO many newer, nicer tops I have, I didn't need to mend it for me to wear; I hadn't reached for it in a while.

Other than some email files decluttering, and a little more paper shredding, so far that's it.

Still going through my closets, trying on things, switching over from summer to fall as I do. Still little by little bits.

I've had a small costume jewelry bag for a while, I kept until I had more clothing to bring to consignment, and along with the two clothing donations I just pulled...I need to call one of my consignment shops (probably the less fussy one that's in my town, but I do want to check if I have any check at the other.)

I wouldn't even bother to consign these two clothing items, one of which I think is more spring than fall and they won't take anyway, but don't have a good place to donate jewelry, so I might as well bring the clothing too. I think they'll take the skirt I have. Honestly, I've said it before, for what I make with consignment, I'd just as soon donate everything now.

I guess that's all for now. Have a good day, everyone.

PS. @magicmoodz What a beautiful 🍁 🍂 fall tree~we don't usually get prettty visuals on this thread~thanks for sharing!
