Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

@gidgetgh That is so funny....I'll try to post a pic later and see if they are the same.

Guess what folks....as of today, said Birkinstocks are back in my closet. Here's how MY purging goes.

Two weeks ago I was SO over them...too goofy.

One week ago, I started getting 2nd thoughts...wait...are they really just kinda fun, cute, funky?

Today, DANG IT....I LIKE THEM....I can see me popping them on for fun this summer (though I have NOT "popped them on" in like 6 summers!) But this might be THE summer!

Does this sound familiar to y'all?...Last year it was my flowery Lug purse...which I'm really definitely over this year...it's set to either be donated or consigned! Not sure my "fussy" consingment shop will want this...they tend to like designer bags. The other one would have gladly taken it, but I don't think I'm waiting 'til their June availability...to what? Make $6? Nah.

Lol...and it seems to be a pattern ....to "wear flowers or not to wear flowers."

As for the home goods (only two items, that "word sign" and the decorative wicker basket my pictures were in until I transferred them to a Periea box last week),  I'm dropping them off at Goodwill!

I am definitely always a work in process, ladies!!

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

I kept  quite busy today and purged a few things in the process...cleaning my 3 season room I decided that the silver gazing balls from Valerine had to go...they eat batteries and I have had them for years..so I will take to a donation center.  I got rid of a couple of shirts that I did not wear this winter and did not like.

I have two boxes in my spare room waiting for me or my husband to take to GoodWill.  I just need to figure out what container to use for the gazing balls...they are breakable and really won't fit in a box..thinking of a garbage bag and attaching a large note....that the items are glass.

[ Edited ]

Vets pick up scheduled for tomorrow.  I have four boxes, two comforters, a twin bed frame, and few pictures.  I'm still trying to send boxes to the vets every few months.  I had a brand new beautiful set of silverware, a gift from my employer thats been packed away forever, so all the old silverware is packed up to go and I'm using the beautiful new set.  Why do I pack stuff away and always saving it for later?  Time to continue to downsize all this multiple acquired stuff!

I started using this vets service last year when I moved.  I am no  longer having to haul the stuff to Goodwill.  Put it on the porch, give the driver a tip, and the stuff is gone.  Makes me happy.

Great reading everyone's progress.

Found an old broom handle in the garage that had cracked and was taped together. I don't know why we were keeping it, we already replaced the handle, so that got tossed.

@amyb

You are so funny! I loved reading your emotional roller coaster about consigning your animal print/floral birkies. Contrary to what you said--granny thinks she is hip in these--I am quite certain you look great!

But I understand the struggle. So often I am momentarily attracted to clothing that (when I come to my senses) just is not me. I know I would feel uncomfortable wearing it and eventually donate. I guess sometimes I want to be someone I am not!

Any decluttering I accomplished this weekend involved paperwork. I will "die on that hill" fighting to continue to receive paper statements from all our banks, brokerage houses and creditors and then I have the nerve to complain about drowning in paper. I am a complicated individual.😕

We have had the best winter. Yes, we had 10" of snow last week, but it quickly went away. I am thinking we have only had 4 snows all season. This kind of weather makes me want to dig in and do some serious spring cleaning.

Here's wishing us all a productive week ahead!

@amyb - that's them!!!!!!!  I wish I still had mine. Keep them and wear them. They're adorable.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
