Thank you so much for all the information you shared on your lovely birch tree. What a special bf you have to surprise you with it. Sadly, I cannot locate yours exactly online, but I'm going to keep scouting for one that looks like yours. Our balcony does have an overhang where our furniture is protected. I probably wouldn't leave it outside if we were expecting a big thunderstorm, but I do think it would make a fun addition.
Gosh amy, 2020. What a horrible year. Early, early morning I would get in my car, park at the lake and pray/meditate for better times. I feared for my husband, an essential worker. And then of course the civil unrest in Minneapolis was horrible and I feared leaving my own home.
But to lose your mom during that difficult time must have been so heartbreaking. There's a lot to do after a loved one dies, but at that time I'm sure things were even more complicated. May she forever rest in peace.

A Teensy-Weensy Toss It Tuesday....
The holiday hoopla is in the rearview mirror so time to see just how much fun was had over the last few months. Reviewed a pile of receipts one last time before feeding Shermie the Shredder the vestiges of 4th quarter 2024. Thought I heard some lip smacking from old Shermie as I fondly recalled a few delicious dinners out now nothing but microcut confetti and memory.
Broke down a few small boxes that will go out with the recycling next week. More to go, but will tackle the rest early next week.
And, with a good freeze period finally coming, did another round of blowing the pine needles and dirt out of the garage. Did the decks again as it just ends up in the house. It's a battle this time of year and the pine needles and dirt are winning.
Best wishes all and keep up the strong work, no matter how small, it all counts! Cheers!

DS brought over a large bag of pants he had been holding on to but decided they would not fit him any time in near future. I went though and put in donate bag.
I gathered a gallon bag of picks that probably won't go with my decor so unto donate bag along with one decor item. Still taking down stuff and might find more.

You know the adage: One man's trash....? As fast as I was pitching, DH was retrieving! I was so proud of myself discarding those brushes...eye shadow brushes, lip brushes, liner brushes, powder brushes -- all to get in DHs hands for his "fine detail work."
Oh well. I tried!

Sounds like many here are doing a really great job and getting things accomplished. Keep up the good work.

Last week I posted about a long bench pillow that I'd put in the trash and pulled back out again.
Tomorrow is trash day and it's back in the trash. I thought briefly about trying to get the cover off, discard the worn out foam, have the cover professionally cleaned. And then I got stuck. What would I do with the cover after that????
I tried for about 2-3 minutes to get the foam insert out of the cover and it just wouldn't budge. I took that as a sign. It is now back in the trash and will stay in the trash. I have a picture of the pillow and that will work.

Went through the "Important Documents" box and sorted, redacted and shredded and tossed outdated papers.
I think I'll take those Recipe Books (that I haven't used in YEARS) to Goodwill tomorrow, along with a few more items from my closet.
Ahhhh, if only I could get my hands on DH's closet - Now that would be a MAJOR purge.
Don't know why he hangs onto clothes that he doesn't use - He ends up wearing the same half dozen shirts and slacks and suits and ties.
Not to mention the (dress) shoes - He wears the same black, brown and oxblood ones to church.
Oh well, at least MY closet is neat and organized. ![]()

I am thankful for all of you who post and inspire me!
I did my annual clean and purge of our bathroom today and got two kitchen sized garbage bags of things out! Cosmetics, expired items, things in boxes (toothpaste and skin care) were unboxed and stored neatly.
What a mess! I am sore all over from getting up and down and up and down and putting things away. I also decluttered two drawers of my nightstand and put a few of the items in there.
I guess I need to get some of that NON-expired Tylenol!

Only little things this week...
Yesterday went through all my empty non-Lock & Lock plastic containers (I use for various things, regularly, in the fridge...the rest of the olives can, leftover beans, or rice etc); the little one lb plastic tubs you get with certain food items you buy.
I have about 6 1 lb. tubs, 3 qt. size for freezing and sometimes sharing soups. Seemed I had more tops than tubs, so went through them. Got rid of spare tops, and one 1 quart tub (had 4...not sure I even need the 3)...so all are matched up.
I only have two sets Lock & Lock, I also use all the time...one nesting rectangle set of all sizes & depths, and 1 round set I use for the salads I make up each week. So I'm good there.
Set aside a pair of black high heeled boots I "say" I'm "definitely" going to donate...I've done this twice and put them back twice. Gifted to me over 12 years ago, worn very sparingly over the years. Cute but not that comfortable. Reason number one to donate. #2 they're non-leather, I much prefer real leather, and that's #3...I have another high heeled, dress, black leather boot I'd wear more often than these. I only need that one pair.
Even those (I think I've mentioned these before) I'd like to find a new, updated pair to replace them with a more secure feeling heel. At any rate...only reason these others keep getting put back...I'd put them on, say "oh they're so cute" but all those other reasons STILL apply. Once, I was sitting down with them on while I decided and they still felt uncomfortable while sitting! Got a feeling I will get over all this (hi, 👋 @gidgetgh I "see" you and your pillow
) and be letting these go before I can think twice again! ...maybe... 🤔
Speaking of @gidgetgh glad you updated us...for some reason you crossed my mind the other day and I wondered what you did with the pillow! Glad you feel fine about it all now. Not to drag this out further as it seems you are resolved...but the pic could be framed & put near the bench, with maybe a pic of your parents. But that's just "weird me" talkin.' I've got a feeling you are much more pragmatic than me!
It has been so colllld & windy here in CT, I just have not dragged my packed up Christmas stuff to storage yet...but I will......
That's it for now, thanks for putting up with all my self-analysis, when posting my purges. I realize it makes for "eyes glazing over" lengthy posts. But to me, it's important to understand the "whys" & "hows" in this process.
PS...Everyone's doing so well lately!...all kinds of purges bigger and small...everyone's been on it. 👍
