I tried for about 2-3 minutes to get the foam insert out of the cover and it just wouldn't budge. I took that as a sign.  It is now back in the trash and will stay in the trash.  I have a picture of the pillow and that will work.

@gidgetgh - I'm glad that it worked out for you. I know for me too, sometimes the frustration of fussing with an item and not getting it to work is just enough for me to pitch it because I just don't want to mess with it. Sounds like that helped you too.

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

I have way too many eyeliners.  Have them organized in a cosmetic organizer but looking at them, I felt overwhelmed and would just not use them.  Today I decided to go through them.  Want to simplify things a bit.  Other than black, brown/bronze/taupe, navy, and charcoal, I don't need any other colors.  So I was a bit ruthless, even though I had bought some of these over the last few months, into the donation box they went.  Still probably have too many as I have multiples of some shades but at least I'm down to what I will actually use.  Won't need to buy any for a long time.

I added a small-ish-sized skillet (I had 2 of the same size) and an anti-fatigue mat to the donation pile today.

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

I scanned thru some of the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen and found 3 extra kitchen utensils and 3 coffee cups to donate.

I tossed a phone book, a plastic bowl that I couldn't find the lid, a jar gripper, some extra address labels and an old t shirt that I was going to use for a rag but decided not to.

I also tossed 2 milk crates filled with red taters that we had stored from our garden last fall that weren't good to eat. I would normally keep them as seed potatoes to plant but I think I'm going to pass this year. We don't eat enough of them to justify the work of planting and storing them.

I do still have one crate with white taters that I have to check and decide what to do with them.

I forgot to add, I found 6 partially used small candles and tossed them along with 2 small glass jars- they were old yogurt jars that I was going to use for the candles but decided not to keep. I still have 4 of the jars if I decide I want to use them.

Happy Friday, all.

Started the day tossing two more used up candles. I did purchase 2 fresh ones at HomeGoods yesterday to replace all my "dead" ones...but 4 have gone out, and only 2 in.

Those dang boots hanging on by a thread up in my closet...in a holding pattern. In my mind I've let them go. In reality, I'm holding on!! SOS, lol.

Bought a Barefoot Dreams throw this past Dec., on sale here...never had one, always curious as they look so cozy and I have a BD robe I love...at the reduced price tried it, and been using it a lot, love it. I love cozy throws and have way too many. So, there's one I use upstairs only sometimes when I do Yoga and need to prop up on a folded blanket for some moves (ie. rarely!) And I have two of these. This one is more used and a little pilled so thinking I should let that go to the animal shelter soon. Darn it, passed by there yesterday and wished I had in in my car, as its not in my neck of the woods.

Got some dusting of snow last night, but not AS frigid today, so I'm planning on bringing my Christmas boxes out to storage, and getting the tree box down to pack that away.

That's it for now....seems like the candles are the only TRUE purge here...but those boots and that blanket may not be far behind.

I am so glad that you are sharing an update on the beloved bench cushion. I don't think I chimed in on your original post knowing that only you can decide when it was time to let go. Sometimes we need to be in a different frame of mind. That can take minutes, days, week, months, or whatever.

While the original cushion is gone, I hope the bench displayed in your foyer with a brand new cushion brings you sweet memories every time you take a moment to really look at it.
