@lolakimono I like the corner cabinets, the fireplace, crown molding, and the flooring.  The rest can go.  This could be such a beautiful room.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Oh, my goodness.........I say keep the fireplace, built ins, window, crown molding and floor, rip out all the rest (including that awful wallpaper and mirror) and start over.

There, that should do it Smiley Happy

They need to start over!

Keep the fireplace, shelving, crown moulding and the floor.

Get rid of the rest of it!

They were successful in achieving a total look except for the "flying saucer" on the ceiling.  While not my taste, I get it. At least, I think I get it!?!!!

I really don’t like this room. It’s a mish mash of totally different things which is not my style. I usually like built-ins, but I don’t even like those in this room. The floor and fireplace are the only things I like.

I have seen a quote attributed to comedian Stephen Wright--"You cannot have everything... where would you put it ?" evidently the answer is --in this DR . Smiley Happy

Hideous comes to mind.  The person does not know which way to go.  Looks like an oriental screen, oh, goodness, this is a complete mess.

There is a lot going on here.

What do you think of the total look?

@lolakimono   I would be nauseated trying to eat there.

Slide a glass table in there after removing this one.  Remove the Chinese screen.  Take down the disco chandelier, and it's palatable but still leaves a lot to be desired.
