DIFFICULTY FINDING BED PILLOWS

I really AM asking for a friend ... LOL.

A friend needs some new down pillows with the gusset sides.  Bed Bath & Beyond stores are gone, and the most likely store here is Macy's.

Many of their pillows are wrapped in shrink wrap, or you can only order them online.   If you order a shrink-wrapped pillow online, open to examine and decide to return it, they won't take it back!

Yes, she wants down or perhaps down and feather.

Checked QVC and the reviews aren't good.

So .....  Any and all suggestions welcome!

TIA!

@Tinkrbl44   Has she tried LL Bean or The Company Store?  Bean's would be very costly, but they allow returns up to a year later.

Or, are there any mattress stores nearby?  They also carry pillows.

I know Kohl's use to have a couple different down versions on display that you could feel. Don't know what they carry in store anymore, but it should be on their website.

BB&B has several gusset down pillows with or w/o feathers. Sale prices on many of them.

I also recommend The Company Store.

I've been looking for pillow replacements too. What I use is just too expensive. Even sale prices are crazy high.

The vacuum-packed pillows are a trip. "That's a pillow? For what? A dollhouse?" Then you open the package and boom! A full-sized pillow emerges. My current pillows came that way. They're Utopia Bedding, queen-sized, $28.89 for two from Amazon. I've used them for two-plus years, and they're still like new. They're a "down alternative," virgin filling, 1000-gram pillow. Oddly, you can buy a four-pack of them for $31.89.

@Tinkrbl44  I only use down pillows (love the comfort and softness) and I buy them from Macy's online, Charter Club. I've returned 3 in the store and they took them right back. It took me a few tries to decide which firmness was best. Macy's is very good with returns. They're having a white sale now as well. And yes, the QVC down pillows are kind of junk. They flatten out immediately.
