@Nightowlz.....I get it.  My dh came home early last week, he was not feeling well, catching a cold.  It was my first full day at home with nothing to do except clean and take down Christmas decorations....I wanted the place to myself

I told him to go  upstairs and lay down in bed...I did not want him downstairs where I was cleaning....I  make a huge mess when taking down Christmas and didn't want to work around him.

@Mom2Dogs Hope your DH is feeling better.

We just have different taste in music so if one of us is listening to music it's best to just do something else. We both know that.

I'm glad I already took down all my Christmas decor. I did not put everything out like I normally do.

DH's dad was ill & passed away a few days before Christmas so we really did not have Christmas last year.

Now my dad's not doing so good. Wish I could just drive over to see him but he's 20 hrs away driving.

@Nightowlz...you had a rough holiday, and I understand about wanting to jump in the car and see a parent....both of my parents are gone but I remember wanting to be with them when  they were ill, thank goodness they were only 5 hours away, much more do-able than 20 hours.

Take care!

DH stayed home today. I'm trying to clean house listening to Maroon 5 turned up. DH shut the door in the exercise room. I said well you should have went to work. LOL!!! He hates it. He likes country music. I don't mean today's country either. He likes that what I call wangy twangy stuff that I don't like.    Cat Very Happy

Since I am the one still working full time and DH is retired, I must admit this bothered me (especially you telling him he should have gone to work).  I work hard all week and I see my days at work as DH's "days off".  When I take a much deserved vacation day from work I ****** well better be able to do what I want, when I want, where I want that day!!  On those days it is MY castle!

Wangy twangy---lol lol.  I think that would be old country?

I like old old old country---if I had to admit I like country at all.

I'm not wild about the Whiney Cry Me country now-adays.

Actually, I like country music--till they start singing.  (And then it ruins it....)

WANGY TWANGY...that’s what mine likes, too! 😂

@LTT1

Is Wangy Twangy another term for Blue Grass?

Just recently heard an album of blue grass religious music that is really good ... quite high on the charts!

@ALRATIBA

Country WANGY twangy is not blue grass, in my book. Honky Tonk is WANGY twangy!

Hmmm, as a young teen and 20 in Indiana, we had plenty of blue grass in the 70’s...and it wasn’t country to me.

Which album do you like?

Oh!  Jumping up and down raising my hand!  Dolly Parton the Grass is Blue.Heart

This CD in all three vehicles!

buds or go outside. It's nice today. He can listen to music from his shed or take his TV outside.

I can't clean with him in my way. He thinks just because he did not go to work I'm not suppose to clean house.

You could listen with cordless Bluetooth headsets. Blast your tunes thru the ear buds or ear pads, depending on what style headset you use,  and DH can do the same with wangy twangy when he needs to. No one suffers and you each get a full dose of your sounds.

Or he can can just go to work like he’s supposed to!  😉

@gizmogal I don't like headphones or ear buds. I would have to find some that would fit in my small ears. I will tell him to put in his Bose ear buds or go outside. It's nice today. He can listen to music from his shed or take his TV outside.

I agree with the husband.   Doesn't he deserve some time off?

@Nightowlz   I'm siding with your DH right now.  Lower the darn music while you're cleaning.

What are you going to do when he retires and is home every day?

You will both argue and go crazy.

Be kind and don't have any regrets later on.

@Big Sister Read all my posts. We are just having some fun.

Why does everyone think everything has to be so serious.

He came home yesterday at 2 & I was doing the same thing. LOL!!!

When he retires he will have to find something to do.

I will throw his rear outside so I can clean. I cannot clean when he's in the house pacing & following me around like a little lost puppy. Drives me crazy.
