I make blankets for Project Linus and many of the women there crochet works of art to give away to children and babies.

 

They are really heirloom quality blankets in every color/stitch you can imagine.  I am always in awe of them.

 

Mine are just simple little fleece blanets.  I keep thinking I will learn to crochet, but it would take me forever to do one blanket!

Witchy, look into Tunisian crochet: the work goes fairly quickly and you can do all sorts of thing from creating fabric that looks like knitting to doing cross stitch on the fabric you create....it's pretty cool!
