I understand your point, but I don’t think grouping collectibles together always makes them look like “junky clutter”. It depends on the items IMO.

That glass looking coffee table should be gone, five chairs are two too many, and the shelf needs space between the collectibles. I like the mirror but the wall behind it should be a bit darker, perhaps a gray with the collectible shelf painted to match.

@wilma  To my eye, there is not a theme to the room. The variety of items don't flow well together and there are way too many of them in that small room.

I still feel a FEW of them of the same theme would give the eye a place to land in an attractive manner at an inexpensive price and without any fond memories.

Collections usually consist of a small story of someone's life (i.e. family heirlooms, sterling serving pieces, Grandfather's sterling shaving set, Grandmother's china tea cups or sterling tea set, honeymoon original art works, a precious family piece of furniture or picture or statue, favorite hobby, coin/stamp collections, rare books, a framed child's drawing or poem, etc.). 

Nothing in that room tells a story about who lives there. I see Target, BB&B, and any other big box store in anyplace around the world. Nothing special and certainly nothing to tie it together. 

Hopefully, you understand my original comment about the room.

I do like the secretary desk, which is almost hidden in the back of the room. It's a lovely piece of furniture and is the only thing that tells me anything about the owner(s). Everything else appears staged. That piece is passed down through someone's family and is precious to them. I'd want know more about it! Nothing else interests me in that room.

Needs a bit of tidying up but still a beautiful room. Love the marble fireplace

and the built ins.

Not digging the cheap looking, flimsy chairs and what is that bunched up

brown thing under the glass table, maybe a pet bed?

I agree everything is so nicely displayed..... What Id get rid of are the ginger jars, and some of those chairs, side tables and ottomans and that wicker basket shich would make it less cluttered looking.....and whatever that "thing" is under the coffee table....

Yes, I understand your comments. I don’t particularly love the room or all the items either. Just thought it was fairly neat & well organized considering how much stuff was in the room. All opinions always welcome on any threads I start.

I don't love or hate this. 

What I have come to understand from my own home, is that a photo is much different that what something looks or feels like in person. 

In person, this room probably feels warm, inviting, and holds visual interest. I love to be in a home where there are things to look at, that tell a story, more than a place where there is no mark of the owners interests or lifestyle. 

But when photographed, a room with this much in it does tend to look busy or cluttered or even smothering to some. 

I've had my rooms feel 'perfect' only to photograph them, and be overwhelmed by what I see in the picture, that I don't see or feel when in the actual space.

It's got a nice warm, welcoming feeling.  A lovely room to sit & relax or enjoy company with.  Well organized & I think the white chairs look comfy.  Like you, I don't care for the mirror.  I'd make a few changes.
