Nice but IMHO too many dust collectors= too much work LOL....at least for me. Seems like a mix of maybe shabby chic, Country and maybe some traditional with a mix of collectables.

I have 2 friends who started out like that piccy but now......full blown hoarding. Can tell they probably have no small children around. Cute...but very busy.

@Mombo1 I also really like that secretary, but I think the room would be better off without it.    

Reminds me of things I do though -  keep something I have just because I like it, not because it's makes a picture-perfect room.

I agree that the room has potential, but could do with a good pruning.  The collector could decide, which are my most choice pieces, and then display just a few of those, with lots of air to "breathe" around them.   If absolutely necessary, they could store some in a few large bins out of sight, and then rotate things in and out.   To me though, it looks like a fair amount of it could go, frankly.

The blue and white ginger jars, and garden stools, are beautiful and always enliven a space.   Also love the big white ginger jar on the hearth.

With these pieces alone, and the lovely antiques and big vintage basket, they have the start of a great room!

@wilma This would be a very intensive labor room to keep clean.  My least favorite chore is to dust so this would need to be scaled back for my liking.

Like the secretary, but not all the stuff on it.  Would like to have those bookselves for all my books and I like the fireplace.  Everything else can go.

Way too much for me. When I study the room I see things that I really like but it is overload and nothing is appreciated.

50% would have to be removed for it to be pleasing to the eye.

It's a nice room. I think the shelves would look better with books.  They don't look very deep though so maybe that's not possible. I would change out the mirror above the mantel on the fireplace and use different decor to make it a focal point.  Right now, it seems everything is a focal point!

@wilma  DH and I started collecting antiques and collectibles 50 years ago when we were dating. Needless to say, our house is like your example - on steroids! Impossible to dust every week. But, we love our collections!

They have kept all the nick knacks in the same color scheme of neutrals which is cleaver. But there’s too much going on in this room between the chest and vases on top, the mirror, things on the coffee table etc. maybe some tweaking and it would work better. I agree with @Kachina624, the eye needs a place to rest. That being said I have built ins on both sides of my fireplace. They need tweaking too, haha!
