A year ago I downsized from a 5 bedroom house (lived there for 37 years!),

to a 2 bedroom coop.  Needless to say, I got rid of a lot.

I had a breakfront very similar to the one in this thread...massive. It was passed down from my husband's grandmother. It was made in 2 pieces, and when I moved I only took the bottom. It is now the centerpiece of my apt entryway, with needed drawers for storage below!breakfront

Too stuffy for me.

I love this! Reminds me of my living room in my last house. We have downsized into a smaller house, so I had to donate and sell a lot of our things. My present living room looks nothing like this, because we have an open floor plan, and cats. I don’t dare set out valuable pieces that they could jump up and break. I love being surrounded by things I love.

@ladycos  It is both classic, which I love, and cluttered, which I don't want to clean around.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I really like almost everything in that room.  However, it's too much for one room.  There's enough for two or three rooms.  Looks very cluttered.

This room is about as far removed from my aesthetic as could be possible.  It is anxiety-creating.

The wood furniture in the room is SO beautiful! The colors are rich & warm.

BUT....the clutter takes away from the loveliness. Geez, there's even a chair on the top of the china hutch! I just noticed the desk & chair, lol.

There's a tremendous amount of stuff to remove....do that, & it's a very comfy area.

Dark and cluttery, but at the same time -- tasteful. I'm conflicted. Thank you, ladies, for posting on HOME and keeping the boards interesting.
