I wash glasses in the dishwasher and use a rinse agent but after a few weeks even new glasses get cloudy. It seems like I have read things like soak in vinegar, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions?
TIA

I lived in a place with very hard water and had to use citric acid in every dishwasher load. When I moved, I threw all my glasses in a dumpster and bought new. To avoid this, hand wash your glasses.
I don't have hard water. I threw some glasses away that I had had for years and bought new ones. They now look the same as the old ones.

Add vinegar to the dishwasher before you turn it on.

The only thing that works for us is cleaning our dishwasher, and using Cascade Platinum pods. They keep our silverware looking good, and glasses clear, not cloudy.

Your water might be too hot or you might be using too much detergent (if using the loose powder or gel). I needed my DW worked one a few years ago and the repairman told me specifically NOT to pre-wash dishes. Scape off the solids and that's it. The DW detergent needs to have something to work on. All that said, once your glassware becomes cloudy, you need to hand clean them with vinegar to removed the film. If that doesn't help, then it's likely they are permanently etched, which is a common problem when using citrus DW detergents.

On first reading, I thought you meant eyeglasses. LOL

Try Lemi-Shine. It works. I was using Jet Dry & it stopped working for some reason. Switched to Lemi-Shine & all my dishes & glasses look so clean. The old dishwasher I had I did not use anything other then cascade but this newer dishwasher they recommend Jet Dry. It worked at first so I don't know what happened.

I love those pods. I tried several different detergents and kept getting spots and film. I wanted to get environmentally friendly detergents, but they left my dishes covered in spots and film. Glasses and flatware looked worse coming out than going in! I tried adding vinegar as a rinse aid, but it made no difference. I did not want to buy a separate rinse aid because I feel like that's one extra product to buy and remember. I finally found the Cascade Platinum Pods and they're all I buy now. My flatware and glasses come out shiny and clean. Pans sill have a few spots, but significantly fewer than before.
