Hi Ladies, I haven't owned something like this in over 20+ years. However, there are so many times during the week (sometimes multiple times/day!) that I think a little handheld vacuum would be great. We have a dog and a cat (need I say more?), children, and an old home that seems to create dust bunnies out of nothing. I'd like something I can keep charged and whip out when I realize that the steps are getting dusty, or the corners of the tile kitchen floor are harboring dirt or dust. Of course, I could drag out the vacuum for these issues-which I do. But I can't tell you how often I think a dust buster-type gadget would come in handy. I've been reading reviews on both corded and cordless types. I'm thinking that corded might defeat the purpose of being able to take anywhere? To car? Nooks and crannies of steps, etc? What is your favorite? Where did you purchase? TIASmiley Happy

Oh, btw, most prices I've seen range between $32-$60. I'd like to stay in this range. On some products, there didn't seem to be a correlation between the pricier models and better reviews. So an inexpensive one that can get the job done would be great!

I have tried so many but after a few months they get clogged or stop working. I tried the Monster and have both models and love them both. They have the best suction of any I've ever tried.

Know of your price range; however, if you can hold out for the Dyson chargeable vacuum with all it's tools, you'll be very satisfied with its power and versatility, to say nothing of ease in handling. I'm always amazed at how often it's my go to choice ( and I have the regular size Dyson! ) and it's dependable too. Often, you get what you pay for: I've returned so many cheap portables over the years. HTH

We just got the new style Dustbuster from Walmart, around $50. My old one bit the dust, so to speak, and I needed a new one so I had DH research it for me. He looked at the Dirt Devil (cheap) and settled on the Dustbuster. Having used it for about a week, I have to say it is fantastic. By far my favorite kitchen "gadget".

Thanks, Clover. I will check out this one. This is more the range I was trying to stay in.

jikz-Is your Dyson handheld the DC34? It looks great (just checked it out on Amazon.) I think it's outta my budget for this, tho. But I will keep my eye on it.

We got one in the tool dept at Home Depot - it is a Ryobi - you buy the battery pack separately and it can be interchanged with numerous other tools. Anyway - it is very powerful and we liked it enough to buy a second one for our camper.
