Re: Bathroom Remodel Question

Thanks @depglass.  We already have a higher toilet and since it is fairly new we're keeping it.  That extra height makes a difference.

Re: Bathroom Remodel Question

Thanks all for your suggestions.  I was thinking about suction hooks but wasn't sure if they would stick in a humid area.  I'm also going to look at shower caddies and see if I can find one that looks good.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Re: Bathroom Remodel Question

I fold the towel in half lengthwise and hang it on the towel bar to dry - there is room beside it for the washcloth. DH's towel bar is too short for both so he put a ring style hanger in the shower for his washcloth.

I often look at the bathrooms in model homes and think - where do they expect 2 people to hang necessities like towels and washcloths as they usually only have one towel bar. The guest bath in our house came with only room to hang one small towel. We removed that and put up a long towel bar there and two ring style hangers in the tub/shower for washcloths.

@Winkk

We have a beautiful tile and three clear glass sided shower. Inside there are built in porcelain soap holders, a porcelain shelf and a tile counter of sorts. We wanted something simple and clean to hang two washcloths.

We bought two Command Hooks for the shower. A very milky white and very unobtrusive. They sticky part has lasted a long time. Easy, quick, inexpensive and easy to find.

@depglass

We replaced all three toilets in our home this past spring. Did not know they were comfort height. I wanted the smooth sided type (without all the curled nooks and crannies to clean at the bottom).

Once we discovered they were the taller toilets we were very pleased.

Re: Bathroom Remodel Question

[ Edited ]

I did mine a few years ago.  I put a couple niches in the walls for shampoos and soap, and two double sided metal hooks for hanging things.  But, I generally hang my wet bath towel over the door to dry, and put it on a hook inside the shower only after it's dry.  I use a puff rather than a washcloth, but I do use a small microfiber towel to dry the shower down (I live in a humid area, and don't want mold!).  That towel goes on a hook to dry.   I also have two towel bars outside of the shower to hold the bathmat and any extra towels.

Re: Bathroom Remodel Question

We have a tub with the shower and I have a tension rod up inside for the washcloth and wet towel.  I hate seeing a wet towel hung over the actual shower curtain.

what is a comfort height toilet? Never heard of that.

what are safety bars and why are they important ?

by removing the tub aren't you worried you will decrease the resale value of your home? A realtor told me never to take a tub out of a home. Buyers want a tub.

I've sold two homes without a tub.

The last house we sold, the buyers fell in love with the large tiled shower we put in.  That's what sold the house...
