Re: BEFORE AND AFTER: THE MASTER BEDROOM...

Of course, the thing about almost all of the 'before and after' pictures featured among design resources is that we're SUPPOSED to prefer the after shots... The before shots are almost always afterthoughts. They haven't been staged, as have been the after shots... The after shots generally haven't anything out of place and have been styled to appeal to those viewing them... It's like the difference between having friends drop in and planning for them to visit...

It's certainly an improvement but I still don't care for it.

Re: BEFORE AND AFTER: THE MASTER BEDROOM...

Unfortunately, I don't care for either room...In the "after" bedroom that bed is just too modern for my tastes and the wood of the armoire sticks out like a sore thumb with all the white, as does the wood of the bed in the first photo (where is the tie-in). For me neither room "comes together" very well......

Re: BEFORE AND AFTER: THE MASTER BEDROOM...

I love the exterior and living room photos. As for the bedroom, I would go with the “before” with major adjustments; delete all bedding and replace with a simple neutral comforter with colorful decorative pillows, replace heavy draperies with sheer curtains, go with a sleigh bed or regular four poster and utilize the built in shelving for decorative accents to bring in color and texture.

I like the armoire in the after photo but I don’t think the bed fits with the period of the house and all the decor elements look like they were purchased from Wayfair to stage a home. Not that they aren’t attractive but to me they just don’t fit. But I am traditional and my roots and leanings are very New England which I realize alot of people don’t care for.

It looks as if these folks are comfortable with a range of styles. I predict this won't be the last time they make changes.

@GingerPeach  If I remember correctly, the 'before'picures are from the house before they redecorated and aren't their choices. I could be wrong on that, but I believe they bought the house, did a fair amount of renovation and construction and redecorated throughout so who knows what they might do next... One thing for sure, all of 'afer' photos definitely go in more of a 'transitional' direction, while most of the 'before' photos tend to be a bit colonial-traditional...

Re: BEFORE AND AFTER: THE MASTER BEDROOM...

Being really honest, while the 'after' versions of both rooms shown from this house makeover pretty cleary have more appeal than the 'before' versions, I'm not really a huge fan of the after versions of the two rooms featured...  As noted above, they look better because they're finished, they're pulled together and they're 'styled', but as for the elements, I'm not sold on them in either space and most especially not the bedroom... I like the mirrored bed, but am not sure it makes much sense... Otherwise, the only thing I really like about the master bedroom is the armoire... I actually prefer some of the 'before' more 'colonial' pieces from both the living room and the bedroom spaces... Would love to see both spaces with more of a mix of styles, but pretty clearly, the designer doing these spaces, who I believe might be the owner, prefers a more contemporary vibe...
