The blacksplashes are so pretty! I would like the stone blacksplash the most, but keeping it clean in a kitchen where a lot goes on would require scrubbing with a brush-no thanks. I would love a wall paper like that!

I'm just finishing up a partial kitchen remodel. I really dislike grout, so I decided to install a quartzite backsplash from the same slabs as the counters. I have dark cabinets, so I like the light-colored stone for the counters and backsplash as contrast. The existing cabinets which won't be replaced are a bit ornate, so beadboard would have added too much pattern.
That said, if I had a different house, I would love that white cabinets and beadboard backsplash.

We got new countertops and backsplash 2 years ago and went with quartz.
I wanted a stone backsplash to match my fireplace wall that is across the room from the kitchen and in full view. We have a very open concept home.
I know the woman who works at the Kitchen remodel Company and she told me not to get the stone. She said is absorbs oil and is hard to keep clean.
We went with the quartz up the wall and I love it...easy to clean and makes the kitchen look bigger, bright, and airy.

I was looking around and this came up on Etsy; so perfect for a lady's bath or large closet!

You can change a backsplash anytime you want by using removable decals.
It's affordable for most and a must if you're a renter.

Currently, I'm a big fan of the newer square uneven shiny subway look. Lots of interest and remains an overall similar wash of color.
We took our quartz countertops up to the cabinets for a flawless look, however, you need to like the more simple elegance it presents. Some may say boring even. No electrical outlets show either.
Personally, I just like too many styles. So many pretty designs to choose from these days. ![]()

Wowzers do I ever love those white glazed square tiles in the stacked pattern, sure wish I would've seen those before our kitchen reno.
We went with wavy glazed rustic looking grey longer subway tiles in the brick pattern and a star patterned tile over our stovetop. We chose white grout to tie in with our white veined quartz countertop. This is a close up (unfinished shelf is now finished). We do love what we chose but I might've thought twice after seeing the glossy white!
I also love the last picture with the rustic stone, that's the total dream look and I agree, I'd give up cleaning ability for that look!

We redid our kitchen 10 years ago. I chose Typhoon Bordeaux granite countertops...it's a fairly busy, dramatic pattern with lots of veins, spots and "movement". I love it!
But I wanted the backsplash to sort of fade away, so we used 3" x 1" glass tiles, in various shades of brown. I don't like white grout, so we chose Quarry Red, which tied the tiles together beautifully and looked really good with the granite. After all these years, I don't think I'd change a thing!
There are so many more choices out there now, as I discovered when we remodeled out bathrooms last year...I don't ever want to have to pick out tile again, lol!
