Area Rug Soyrces

[ Edited ]

Any suggestions on good sources for area rugs?

After years of procrastination I am having wood flooring installed on main floor.   Having had wall to wall carpet, this is big change for us,  I don't want them messed up because i am not prepared, especially in entrance foyer. I am checking Target, but would appreciate guidance.  (gosh, there are pages and pages, and I still love look, touch, etc but that might not be possible.

I've bought several area rugs from rugs.com and have been very pleased with the quality and service.

Some Home Depots and Lowes have area rugs, also Home Goods.  Haasn't worked out for me so I ordered from Ruggables.

I go to my neighborhood carpet store. They have lots of area rugs. They also will make area rugs to your measurements from carpets they carry.  Shopping this way gets me exactly what I want.

@Twins Mom  I second rugs dot com.  While I have chosen not to have area rugs covering any of my floors, I did order two hand hooked wool rugs for each door entrance.  Very good quality and great prices!  My daughter purchased a beautiful area rug for over her LR carpet (she has 4 kids) to protect it and it's beautiful and good quality.

I think you will be satisfied!

@Janey2

I have always done that, too.

Sometimes they have overruns from a previous customer's order that they will bind for you at a huge discount.     di

I always forget about them, how dumb am I? Geez.

I usually go to Wayfair because they are so fast and delivery is within a few days. But I looked for a rug for the deck yesterday, delivery was August! So I went to Amazon, they had the exact same carpet and it will get here Thursday and I saved a few bucks.

Same here....I have wall to wall carpet next to my kitchen.  They bound 2 pieces in the same carpeting to place at the 2 busiest entrances.  Saves wear and tear !!!

Hi, @Twins Mom !  I would like to suggest rugs-direct dot com.  We just replaced a 11 x 8 wool rug, old and constantly shedding, with a similar sized polyester rug.  I was fortunate to get it at 50% off, fast free shipping.

I'm now on their email list and they are constantly running sales and promos.  Right now the sale is up to 70% off.

When we lived in Virginia, we visited their showroom in Winchester and the merchandise was beautiful and high quality.  We bought many area rugs from them over the years.

Believe it or not, I have a beautiful area rug in my living room that I got at Home Depot.  It has held up well over these many years.
