I bought many rugs from the JCPenney catalog years ago and still do online.

Another vote for rugs.com. You can see choices by using the filter for color, "pile" level, size, patterns (geometric?eastern culture?stripes?borders?), price range, etc. Photos on the site are accurate, so you can order with confidence. Shipping is fast and the rug arrives well protected. They are cheerful about returns.

i also found real nice choices at IKEA, in store or online.

Enjoy your new floors.

@Desertdi  I did this a few years ago when I needed new rugs for 2 of our bedrooms. I went to a nearby Carpet One, not realizing this was a possibility. After showing me some regularly priced carpeting, the salesman took me to their remnants room. This room was full of huge bolts of carpeting. I found 2 bolts (a different pattern for each room) of 100% wool carpeting for $3.99 per square foot. The salesman told me these regularly sold for $12.99 per square foot. Although I had measured the rooms myself, they came to my home to take precise measurements, then cut and taped the rugs for me. While these rugs cover most of the floors in those rooms, they would have cut smaller area rugs if that was what I wanted.
