Re: Anybody Still Have Snowman Out?

I am putting out my Spring and summer wreaths. Next will be my porch and looking for flowers. I am on the East coast.

I put away my snowman dinnerware on March 1st.  I also put away my "wintery-est" clothes.  I am so done with winter!

I use my Christmas dishes between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Then I use my snowman dishes for January and February.   The only holiday I decorate my home for is Christmas.  I just don't have the desire to deal with putting up and taking down decorations seasonally.

Re: Anybody Still Have Snowman Out?

I have just one display of a couple of large primitive snowmen, with a sled and tree and lantern. It is on the table next to my desk in the family room. my mom bought the snowmen for me, unexpectedly one year for Christmas, I added the other pieces to the vignette in the following year. I simply love this display every year, and never tire of it.

It stays out until I spring clean the family room, which usually happens anywhere from mid February to mid March, then I pack them away till I get the Christmas decor out in November.

I will be cleaning that room this coming week, and they have been out longer this year than usual, but we just got the snow melted off here after many accumulating snows and a colder winter than we have had in a few years. It just seemed appropriate to leave them while the weather matched the theme!

Snowman decorations are cute but I'm not a lover of Winter, period, so they get put away with the rest of the Christmas decorations.

No, if I have anything outside on my deck it is down on Three Kings just like my inside decos.  Now putting things away is another story.  LOL

I have a 4" snowman couple from Fenton on a bookcase.  They never get put away.  I could easily go berserk with snowmen and pumpkins so I really have to keep myself in check.

We live in a 55+ community with strict guidelines. All holiday and winter decorations have to be down already. I shake my head when I drive by a house and still see a Christmas wreath on the door. It is March - and close to Easter now. We're all looking forward to spring!

I noticed this past Sunday while walking one of my neighbors still as a snowman head hanging underneath their patio covering.  He is smiling.

Re: Anybody Still Have Snowman Out?

Ha no snowmen, but I still have my winter candles out. Years ago I bought several different kinds of the "trees" that candle impressions made. I don't usually put batteries in them but I love the shape of them and the way they look overall.

I have them on the mantle, along with some various wax pinecones since that all says winter to me. On the bookshefl behind me, I have some more tree candles, along with Jim Shore's angel figurine.

It's probably time to switch out to more springlike decorations. I did pull out my porcelain eggs and some bunnies but they just haven't made it to their final destination around the house.
