Re: Adding Color To The Kitchen

Maybe some color, but not that wild print, and not those colors.

I see no sense in having a nice neutral space, to then be smacked with something so loud and bold. Never have liked it.

Personally, I would never paint a wall gray.  It's a "cold" color.  I would wilt in a neutral environment.

Not all grays are "cold."  After our house fire, we rebuilt and chose new brick and ivory cabinetry -- and we used Agreeable Gray (sort of a "greige") on the walls.  We also chose gray ceramic tile and gray vinyl planks on the floors.

It's actually not bad. Woman LOL

Enjoy.  I'm sure you will love it.

Personally, I would never go there.

Oh to have all of that cabinet space! I'd love to have a kitchen like this, but I wouldn't choose that chair covering - it just doesn't seem to fit. The paint color does nothing for those white cabinets or anything else in the kitchen! A kitchen should be warm and inviting - a gathering place - this one totally missed the mark!

We can only see the cooking area.  I want to see the rest of the kitchen.  It's hard to tell what matches with half the story.

I love this kitchen, and I love the pop of color the chairs add. I probably would have just went with a neutral chair, but not anymore I would definitely add the color.

I'm not going to say anything except my bar stools are industrial.  My bar is charcoal.  Otherwise, the walls, like these, are dry sage and my floors are dark hardwood.  No floral prints but I have artwork in my kitchen, still life(s)

Re: Adding Color To The Kitchen

The only thing I would get rid of would be the chairs.  I love neutral colors!  I have always had neutral "drab" colors in all three houses we've had.

I find it restful, peaceful, and relaxing. Texture and pattern and a few soft colors are fine by me. I have tried living with colors, and didn't like it.  I had a chintz chair that I would have cheerfully burned if I wasn't afraid it would set the neighborhood on fire.

I have yellow comforter and pillows in a guest bedroom and soft blues in another, and some french blue and soft peach in the living room, but otherwise, it's pretty neutral around here.

You can always build a pantry and laundry room off of the kitchen at the end of your house.

They don't have very much counter space.

Two ovens and it's several steps to set a very hot pan or heavy dutch oven down.

Wouldn't have planned a kitchen that way.  I have a tiny kitchen and much more countertop than that.

Lots of upper cabinetry, but seems so high up it's not easily accessed.  Is that dead space above the cooktop?

If that were my space to design, I'd opt for a nice oven/stove and forego the pillars/columns (or whatever decorative space takers they are) and enjoy more cabinets and drawers and countertops.

About the chair upholstery.  Looks a little dish towel-y to me.  Would look cute in a sunny and cheerfully painted kitchen.

@Lucky Charm

I'm going to hazard a guess that below that bar on the side we cannot see is also countertop.  Most kitchens like that have the bar and the counter below with a sink instead of putting the sink on the bar.
