Here's a fun little tidbit video from "House and Home" again.    This designer purchased her dream property, (in Ontario, Canada, I think) but needed somewhere for her and her husband to live while it undergoes an overhaul. So she bought a mobile home.  (By the way, isn't it a pretty piece of land?  Her midcentury modern house is super too, hope they keep that vibe when they renovate...)

Anyway, I'm always drawn to little spaces, doll houses, cute trailers and mobile homes, houseboats.  Hers is quite spacious, isn't it? 450 square feet, every inch used.  The one thing-- I don't like the "overscale" quality of the chairs.  Normally, I like "big" but here it seems a little too overwhelming for the space.

Nevertheless, it's nice.  It's great when they give paint colors, so you know what they used.  "Onyx" for the deep charcoal or black, and "Chantilly Lace, for the white paint, both Benjamin Moore stalwarts.  And she audaciously painted the countertops-- what a smart move.

She should definitely be able to entertain like she wants.  And look at that patio!  Must be nice....

How nice to be able to just buy a trailer for someplace to live while you renovate your home.

One of the nicest renovations of an RV that I've ever seen.  It presents beautifully!  Love that it appears larger than it is!  I'm all about illusion!  Well done!

I love that she did that.  She "luxed it up."  That phrase made me smile in appreciation.

Thanks, @Oznell

Say, if you ever come across any decorating images or videos of people who have had to use a lot of what they already have or perhaps can only redo some of their homes or part of a room, instead of those who can afford to do it all at once, I would love to see how "old goes with new." Or put another way, how "what I can afford to redo goes with what I can't afford to redo."

I haven't seen anything like that online since I think mostly folks like to share total redos.

Oh, yeah, @GingerPeach ,  I'd love to come across that too!  They don't seem to do much of that for video, as you have noted, but I'd love seeing creative integration of "what is" with "what's new".

Hey though, now that you mention it, I did see one just recently at that "Style at Home" site where they said that the homeowner did a partial redo-- she's a total vintage fan, so I think she even kept the metal-bordered formica in the retro kitchen.  Cute vintage "diner" look was the result.

I will dig up and post!

Amazing that she renovated a travel trailer to live in while her home was being renovated! LOL! That was a pricey trailer to begin with!

I am not a fan of trailers.  I will admit the changes she did, lighter paint on the wall, addition of some furniture and the kitchen aren't bad.  The bedroom is much too confining.  It isn't for me  even with the changes.

Just so cute. She did a great job. Great get away home for a couple. I would love to have that trailer in a vacation spot.

In reality...the purchase of the trailer and all the renovation is a steep price to pay for only 4 months of living space...maybe she will get it back when she sells it.

Re: AIRY TRAILER RENOVATION

[ Edited ]

Her budget must look nothing like mine... Nice job but over the top for a temporary residence, and a trailer at that... More dollars than sense would be my take... And overall, just a bit ridiculous, to me, to go to such lengths and expense...
