Re: What Size For Tabletop Christmas Tree

I prefer the taller one. It seems more like a real tree and I think it's prettier than the smaller tree.

@Regal Bee  I have to say that your tree is simply gorgeous. Nice work.

@NickNack  Pottery Barn always has pretty mini Christmas tree decorations. Some are on sale right now. Just Google "small Christmas ornaments."

Amazon has a lot too. Just put "mini Christmas decorations" in the search bar.

I’ll add, order now.
I ordered an in stock tree from QVC. It shipped, supposedly, right away. UPS lost it or somebody lost it. I’m now waiting for it to ship AGAIN.

I've had a similar tree in the 4 foot and regular size ornaments look good on it. One of the 4 foot trees I had came from Ballard Designs and looked just like the one in your photo.

In past years, prepandemic, Target has always had

some selection of smaller ornaments.

I've also had 3 foot trees and the look more toylike.

I like the trees in the picture, especially the taller one.  A nice thing about them is that the base is compact so any tabletop would work.  A few years ago I bought a 4' tree with a base that was 16" x 16" and it wouldn't comfortably fit on any of my tables.

Re: What Size For Tabletop Christmas Tree

The 4' tree just isn't going to work.  It's way too tall and wide.  The table that I am going to put it on is 22" wide.  I found a 3' tree at Pottery Barn that I like that is 22" wide.  The 3' tree in the picture is from Ballard Designs and is 31" wide.  I will have to go with a narrower tree.

I think the 4' tree in the picture is prettier, just like most of you do. When you actually measure the height on a table I think you'd be surprised at how tall it is.

Just confirm the tree is in stock. 😂

I’m sure whatever you purchase will look beautiful.

@NickNack

In past years, Walmart had quite a nice selection of smaller ornaments.

All different styles, colors, shapes, genre's.

Plain, glitter, plaid, animal, woodland, mirror, feather, wood, glass/acrylic........

All very pretty & seemed well made.

I have not been there to see what they have this year though.

Re: What Size For Tabletop Christmas Tree

I've been busy today!  I'm surprised the battery hasn't run out on my laptop!  I've ordered a 3' tree from Pottery Barn and a set of miniature glass ornaments, a beautiful small embroidered tree skirt from Amazon, a felted wool Novica cardinal from Amazon and a set of 6 Old World glass bird ornaments from Amazon.  I already have some ornaents that might work for a smaller tree, too.  Thank you, everyone, for your replies.  I can't wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving so I can put it up!

Re: What Size For Tabletop Christmas Tree

[ Edited ]

I haven't put up a big tree for the last few years after I had to give up hosting (at age 79).  Just couldn't physically do it anymore.

I did put up a couple of 2' lit trees and last year I bought two of Valerie's 3' downswept, flocked, electric lit trees, put some cotton around the base and put them by my fireplace.

I put timers on them so they come on by themselves and go out after I have gone to bed.  When I do my Christmas decorating after Thanksgiving,  I will set them so they come on about 4:30 after the time changes (boo).  I really like them.  I leave them up all winter.  Now I don't feel so bad about not having a big tree.
