Re: We still have two more days of CIJ programming

[ Edited ]

I'll be interested to see what turns up for the CIJ grand finale. I've made it through the entire month with only one Christmas related purchase, the Valerie TSV tree.  Nothing much has really spoken to me. I almost went for the red mercury glass cardinals but let them fly away. This is really a first for me, but kind of a good feeling.

@Maltichonmom17  I wasn't going to buy the cardinals, but my dining room hold many red mercury glass pillars and hurricanes, so at the last minute, I did.

@mousiegirl, I'm glad they flew to your home! I bet they're going to look great in your dining room and I can't wait to see how you style them. Looking forward to the pics!

If they pop up "as is" I may reconsider my decision...we'll see. They were adorable!

I don't hold out much hope there will be much new or exciting, but it will be a nice break from the endless clothing.

So far, I've purchased nothing Christmas. I have bought some BL candles on clearance (possible gifts) and free shipping and bought two sets of the Luminara mini lanterns, one for a gift, if I keep them because already the battery life seems to be less than the advertised. One set quit at 10 days in on the timer function.

This is a first for me, in many, many years. I always find something Christmas related I just 'have to have', but not this year.

We'll see how I make it through the next round!

@Mominohio
I'm hoping they'll bring back the Hallmark flocked tree in 6.5'. I did order 2 of Valerie's kaleidoscope trees in Silver.
But this is my 1st CIJ.

@SweetSydney  If you ever need a slim tree, Valerie's glistening which she is offering this year, is beautiful, have one on my computer table, posted this before, and one will go in my bedroom.  I balked last year, but am glad I surrendered this year.  They don't even need ornaments, that pretty, but even though slim, the trees are very full and they do glisten. Smiley Happy

@mousiegirl
Thank you for the recommendation. I did see Valerie's tree but I'm holding out for a flocked tree. Valerie's tree is beautiful! Heart

Re: We still have two more days of CIJ programming

I'm happy to see that the Scott Bros. are doing a show on Tuesday. Last year they presented a "regal reindeer" that was a beautiful standing reindeer in resin. Many requested a companion version of this as a seated deer for this year, and it looks like they have come through. If you were watching carefully when they were showing the clips which introduced the buyers for the various departments, you could see the seated version on a table in one of the shots of all lhe decor. It also appeared in another clip while they were showing how to decorate with another product they were presenting. I'm also curious to see what the "Inspire Me!" line has to offer. Everything else they've presented so far, including Valerie's line, hasn't interested me.

@LolaLasagne  Since the deer was on a table, did it look large like the standing, or a smaller version?

Re: We still have two more days of CIJ programming

I broke down and got 2 more sets of the glass globe iluminara tealights.  Yeah, the batteries don't last for ever but they are truely PERFECT  on my tree.  I was hoping for some more of the "Glitzy birds" type ornaments to show up as those took my fancy a year or so ago.  Nothing else has called to me this year though.  Still, one can always Hope.

Yes, I haven't been this 'good' during CIJ in many years.

I honestly see some things that are pretty, but just none of them enough for me to get up off the money for them, or enough for me to figure out what will have to go to make room for the new.

I'm not sad in the least that I'm not buying. Just having fun watching and participating here.

Yes the all day and all weekend clothes, beauty, and jewlery shows. I don't enjoy them but a lot of other people do. Just like most of us here love CIJ and all the Christmas shows closer to the season. But I'm not going to go hijack the jewlery forum complaining about how an entire Gold Rush day ruins jewlery for me. It irks me how hard people come down on holiday programming but not anything else. Rant over!

@Mominohio
I don't understand why people complain about holiday programming. It's not like someone's holding a gun to their head & forcing them to watch it.   There are some of us new people that want to watch it.

@SweetSydneyBelieve me, if there were not millions of people who want to see CIJ and buy Christmas items QVC would not be featuring it. They want to present shows that sell, sell, sell. I can't stand beauty products, handbags, mattresses and a bunch of other stuff. But I figure QVC is selling them because they make money from them - after all that is their purpose in life. Some folks have a problem being objective about their lives. Anyway they don't really bother me. I just wish they wouldn't butt in on our threads!

Re: We still have two more days of CIJ programming

I have enjoyed CIJ so much.   I have to say I was bored with the regular programming.

My poor budget will attest to that fact .  lol
