Yikes, 1100. Last year we had about 30. Rain is expected Thursday. Not sure how many we will get. When we were young, over 150 kids. It was always fun for us, AND we went to a catholic school and had Nov 1 off. I have enough for probably 75 trick or treaters.

We gave out the full sized for 20 years & not only would they remember, they left our house alone while we were working.

In the past 38 years--35 of them in my house--got maybe----15 total. In this apt starting in 2021--none. But I always have a bag of candy----just case----![]()

@Group 5 minus 1 I have lived in my current home for about 8 years. I have never had any trick or treaters. Our community provides alternate locations for the kids...like the local fire dept, community centers, or the state police parking lot. Actually parents seem to prefer these locations mainly for safety reasons and supervision. The school also has a Trunk or Treat night in the school parking lot which is actually tomorrow early evening. I think the days of free roaming for hours in the neighborhoods might be gone. Times have changed.

I would love to see Trick or Treaters but we have none. The neighborhood that I moved from had lots of little Trick or Treaters and a few older kids. It was a fun time. No one missbehaved and they almost all said thank you.
When I was a kid and my children were young Halloween was the best night of the year. It's a shame today's kids are missing out on this fun. And no getting candy out of a trunk in a parking lot is not the same.
And as kids we actually had to do a "trick" which was usually a silly joke and then we got the treat! They don't seem to do that anymore! Happy memories as a kid and when I went out with my kids and grandkids to trick or treat! Luckily in my neighborhood we get LOTS of trick-or-treaters!

It's hard to say....last year there were maybe 50 kids.
I've been in my home for over 30 years. In the beginning when the neighborhood was new every house had young kids. There were hundreds coming around! For more than 25 years my neighbors on the cul de sac would sit outside with candy (of course!) chairs, drinks, candles and a rolling cart.
We would have a great time calling the kids over. One year my next door neighbor's daughter who was in her early twenties by then come out to give us a show with baton twirling with fire! It was quite a show!
Then one by one most of my neighbors who sat out moved and starting last year I just answered the door.
Over the years there have been less kids. However last year there seemed to be more.
I purchased a single but large bag of assorted candy from Costco. It's sitting in the trunk of the car so I'm not tempted to eat any. I plan on shutting the light out once that candy is gone....I'm not buying any more.

Zero...I keep my porch light off.
Years ago, my parents would get 100+ which kept them busy all night long. If I got 1,100, I'd definitely cut it off and turn my porch light off after a 100 or so.

@shoptilyadropagain , When the candy is gone , the light goes out. That only happened once and it was crazy.

We quit 6 years ago. People bussing in kids, van loads of people we've never seen before. Adults just out roaming around. High school kids WAY too old to be out, or even young adults. It wasn't the same. It was an invasion.
We found out our neighborhood was targeted on Facebook as a good place to go. We have noticed there is hardly any Halloween decor out now--so I think we aren't the only ones. It is WAY WAY down this year--not even many pumpkins on poarches. Not even ours--a first in 40 years.
It was wonderful when it was kids from the neighborhood and their parents. We loved it then. Not now. And there are commercial places and churches that do Halloween anyway these days.

For some reason, no trick or treaters for years. Not sure why.
