I would like some small scale figures to go with the smaller items Valerie (& others) carries.

Small gingerbread people, small snowmen, small animal figures, small trees......

I know in order to be cost effective, they would have to be sold in sets. 

A set with gingerbread people figures, trees, animals, a gingerbread snowman maybe LOL!

Even Valerie's own displays show medium size houses with HUGE figures!

That is a good suggestion to have gingerbread lace figures in a smaller size to go with the houses.

There are gingerbread lace mice that are smaller. Obviously not to scale, but match. I don't believe Val had them when she introduced that first building, but you may be able to find online. I saw them in a couple stores at that time. I think made by Raz.

Any series figures, not just the gingerbread lace.

From what I have seen & read here, LOTS of people create villages of all sorts; Christmas, Easter, Halloween....

I don't have room for a village but I have seen some beautiful ones here!!!

So sets of small figures of any sort would be great!

My small gingerbread house (6" I believe) from about 5 years ago (similar to photo) came with a couple of small pieces.
