Do you like 'metallics' for the festive season?   I like all of them, but mostly go with "gold" to accent my usual red, green and white colors.  Mainly because I already have gold, and also brass, which ties in.  My vintage brass unicorn sits on a pile of red books at Christmas, center stage.

But I love shimmery silver, too, and also copper.  Copper brings a nice warmth, that I noticed in some pretty vignettes:

Sanctuary Home Decor blog did a copper and burgundy scheme which was very pretty:

She took as her inspiration, this copper and burgundy ribbon she used in the tree.    It made sense too, since apparently she already had a nice little collection of copper items.

I LOVE the chunky vintage copper tub anchoring her console:

She tied in the burgundy with her little bottle brush trees, and ruddy tones in ornaments, books, and berries--

She also did a copper-accented Christmas table setting:

But she isn't rigid about it-- you can see she's using brass candlesticks, silver chargers, etc., along with her copper tankards and pears...

This two-toned, flower-filled antique coppery urn also shows a nice mix of copper with other metallic colors, very successfully.

If you use metallics in the holidays, would you use copper if you had it?   What are your favorite metal colors to use?

@Oznell  Love all the touches of copper in the images you posted...especially the naturally decorated tree and the table with the tankards.

Unfotunately, copper wouldn't blend/fit in well with the way I decorate.

Today I picked my husband up from the chiropractor office and they had a neutral tree decorated with matte silver ornaments and clear ornaments with silver snowflakes etched on them. It was quite beautiful. Someone who knows the family said they bought it all at a thrift store (nine foot tree too).

I love how cooper is used in this room, and I especially love the copper pot with pine cones.  It's understated but festive and elegant at the same time, if that makes any sense.

I personally lean towards gold, but some golds can be harsh.  Silver is too cold to me.  I could probably use little bits of copper here and there in my home.  Never really thought about it.  But I do find it to be a happy medium between gold and silver.  Very warm, inviting and pleasing to my eyes.  Like anything though, it can be over done if there's too much of it.

Good post @Oznell! Thanks!

I don't have any copper, but I do love mettalics, and for the holidays I favor gold.  I loved all the vignettes that you posted!

Love everything but that flower arrangement at the end.

I do love the copper pot with the pine cones, a lovely look and perfect together.  The antique urn filled with foliage is stunning.  All the copper decor ideas are very appealing and elegant.  I would consider using copper here and there for Christmas decorations after seeing this post!

I do like mixing in holiday decor with metallic sheens.  The use of copper shown in the photographs is lovely.  I would be more likely to use golden hues with my particular decor, but I like all shades of metals.

@LdyBugz ,   I hadn't thought about copper being a happy medium between silver and gold, as you say, but that strikes me as exactly right!   Great insight.

I'm hopeless--  I love the glimmer and shine of any metallic during the holidays-- anything that sparkless and amplifies light is very welcome....

I love metallics and anything goes at Christmastime for me. I used to have an extensive collection of copper pots, pans, cake pans, etc., etc. The humidity here made it necessary to polish all the time. I eventually fell out of love with it and donated it all but I do love the way it looks. It goes very well with Christmas decor, these are very nice pictures. Thanks for sharing these!
