Went to Wal-Mart to purchase gift cards for our church's holiday collection but they only had a few "congrats"  or happy birthday ones left.  Gracious!  Guess many organizations doing the same.  Good that people are giving but frustrating for me.  They said they got cards a couple of weeks ago but sold out quickly.

You can buy them from Amazon ( in really cute gift package) and you'll have them the next day ( they don't run out of them ).

Thanks for that idea.  I googled it but don't see that option but maybe I am not putting it in correctly on prime site. Will try again.  That would help!

Just type "Amazon gift card".

@Twins Mom Where in the store are you looking at for gift cards?

The front registers?

I ask this because at the registers is where you find the "birthday", " congrats", etc. type cards.

You need to look for the big holiday displays for "holiday" themed gift cards.

I live in a small town and my local Wal-Mart has 4 of these displays in store that I know of.

They are located throughout the store.

Gift cards are sold everywhere. Dollar stores, gas stations, etc.

Here's a picture of a gift card display. They hold 1000s of gift cards, can't imagine Wal-Mart running out of such a thing.

You can also type in "gift cards" at Wal-Mart dot com and have cards shipped to you. Many options there.

You can also buy electronic gift cards.

I always buy my gift cards where I can get some type of benefit. Sam's Club and Costco don't carry many different cards, but they do usually run at least 5 to10 to 20% off.

Target will apply their 5% off if using one of their Red Cards for payment.

I have a reward card from two different grocery stores by me where my purchase garners rewards points for money off my groceries or gas.

@MezzieStarr

Since our store is mostly self-checkout, they pointed me to end where registers start.  Lots of choices except for Wal-Mart itself.  I did not go through store to see if there were other dusplays.  Will try Sams tomorrow and Wal-Mart again in case they come in  if I can't find on amazon.  I won't pay shipping on gift card if Wal-Mart requires.

Our grocery store has a gift card floor display.
