Re: HOLIDAY METALLICS

[ Edited ]

I love the look of metallics in homes.

Living in a beach area on the water I tend to stay with the natural greenery, homemade ornaments on the tree from my kids from birth to present, and blues.

I like to reflect and compliment the surrounding beach and sand around me.

I also have gotten away from bows..I remove them from all my wreaths. They just don't seem to go with my surroundings.

Added-

I am really liking a touch of copper with stainless appliances in kitchens.

I also like copper as an accent with gray throughout the house.

Metallics are kind of my go-to for holiday decorating.  I don't care for the color red, and greens blend right into the greenery.  I like to use ivory and metallics (gold, silver, bronze) and green of course even though it doesn't stand out like the others.

I love the photos posted.

Thank you for posting this beautiful setting!

One of my thoughts is about that brightness in that room from the huge windows! In wintertime this would be too "cold" for me. There's a white room and large windows and I've never known how I would solve this issue to my liking?

I'm loving the brass and might consider that accent in my place, which is mostly gray. Copper would provide warm "glints" which would be nice year round. On a previous post, we discussed the copper accents in a kitchen that was mostly white.

I love the care with which that pine cone is painted in the picture with the brass pot.

When I was a little girl my mother decorated our tree all in gold.  While it looked fantastic I envied my friends who had an eclectic mix of ornaments on their tree including homemade ones.  So when I was about 12 my mother abandoned the gold theme and we began to make and collect eclectic ornaments.  On my tree now we have some of those same ornaments as well as ornaments my children have made and new one that were gifted to us or collected.

I ❤ ALL of these photos, and would never have thought to decorate with copper as part of my holiday fare.😊 I LOVE traditional Christmas colors, but have favored icy blue and pink the past 2 years and enjoy decorating with it as well-thank you Valerie! Metallics and bling are a must!!!😁

@Oznell

All gorgeous!  I love metallics and copper in particular even though I don't presently own much copper I do love it and aspire to owning more especially after seeing these beautiful pictures. Note to self..."Get more copper"haha

I also love the way this person decorated, not too over the top but just enough to be festive. calming and cozy. I love bottle brush trees and have quite a few but none in that amazing burgundy color, mine are more muted in color. I've never been a huge red/burgundy person but I adore those so much....Note to self...."get deep red/burgundy bottle brush trees!"Smiley Happy

The poor woman must spend her days with a poishing cloth in her hand....or maybe the butler does it?  I see a lot of such labor represented by her things displayed here.  It's beautiful though.

@Oznell  I just remembered something!  I haven't started decorating for Christmas yet, but, I do have something that leans towards copper.

I ordered these bells from Amazon to put on a wreath I'll hang on an interior door.  The pictures are from the item on Amazon and the description is a "golden brass" color, and they do look more like a copper color in person. So that will be my nod to copper!  I just love the look and shape of these bells.  😀

@SandySparkles ,  I'm fond of that blue and pink combo too--  your scheme must be so soft and pretty!

Beautiful bells, @LdyBugz ---  I really like the shape too.

You got me started, Oznell!

Later I will post a collage of all the beautiful brown, bronze, copper decor items I have found. What got me started is that pine one in the first picture...it is so well done...the color of gibbon and the color of the "frosting"!

I would like to have sprigs of green with copper accents placed around!

I did order this to be a stand-in for my idea for now.
