Love to listen to some up beat music when I'm making Holiday desserts . For Christmas, it's s definitely classic Christmas songs that I can sig to .
Today while making Thanks Giving desserts enjoyed listening to the Allman Brothers . Duane Allman 's slide guitar was so smooth. Jazzy boogey . Jessica, Melissa, Little Martha, , Blue Sky and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed . Also listened to the CD Echo in the Canyon from the documentary with Jacob Dylan depicting " the birth of the California sound ". Songs such as Expecting to fly, In my Room, Go where you wanna go , Questions, Never my Love, and other songs .
I made my burbon pecan pie , molasses pumkin pie and Grammercy Tavern's Gingerbread with stout beer

I am not a music lover..wish I was...but off topic...do you freeze the things you made today or will they still taste fresh on Thursday?
Today, I am mixing up cookie dough for Christmas cookies and will freeze and then bake closer to Christmas or when I will see my. niece, her family gets a good portion of what I bake.

No, I don't freeze any desserts . Today was my only free day to bake so, yea a little early but keeping the pumkin pie covered in the fridge . The other two at room temp will be fine. I prefer to bake 1-2 days ahead but that's how it goes this year .

My favorite thing to do while making desserts is lick the spoon!

I think it depends how stressed I am. I usually like to listen to SiriusXM "Holiday Traditions." However, I'll be doing most of my baking on Wednesday, so I'm not sure what I'll be needing. Maybe hymns??? I've got two pies and two fillings from scratch. In previous years it wasn't so much of an issue, because I had my daughter doing prep work. She can't come this year.

Mine is enjoying making it in the moment, then seeing the pretty completed finish, so I can then share them with my friends and neighbors and see the smiles and joy on their faces.

I always listen to Christmas CDs while making holiday desserts. I make different kinds of cookies from the recipes my mom gave me before she passed away. I share the cookies with family and friends like my mom did.

Oh, I get it about the time line...I was just curious how other handled the early baking issue.

Watch my husband make pies. He is far better than me at pie. We make them ahead and freeze them. We had a lifetime of rushing around doing things last minute, traipsing all over the state and such.
We do our things either bought or make ahead and enjoy the peace and quiet and being together. We've discovered there is this parade thing you can watch instead of wrestling a turkey and washing pots. Amazing! Who knew? ![]()
