@kze.  Anyone who can read and follow simple directions can make za good cookie dough,  there's nothing complex or exotic about making cookies.  Simplest stuff you can concoct.  It would be hard to screw them up.

You'd be surprised!  I can get notarized affidavits from my surviving friends!  Lol.  Did I mention that I'm a great cook but can't/won't follow a recipe.  Also I'm a klutz!

@Lily18 There's still a percentage of customers who thinks David Venable & the David's Cookies' brand are related.

And you know this how exactly? Lol

I guess I am one of those people who would rather pay for delicious, high quality cookies than try to make them myself, or buy premade cookie dough.

I am a bit picky, and I don't buy Cheryl cookies because they are just too soft and bland for me.  One time I bought David brownies and we had too many to eat, and we just got tired of them. I am afraid to try the David's cookies.

I have a special recipe from my grandmother for cookies from scratch using honey and molasses, and it takes three days to make them!  FIrst day--make dough and let sit in fridge overnight (too sticky to cut unless chilled), second day cut and bake, third day decorate.  Yes, they are scrumptious, but LOTS of work, and can be a bit costly when you buy the honey, decorations, etc.

My cookies at my local bakery are not that cheap, but they are very good, and they feature special items like Linzer tarts and petit fours as well.  I do also like some of the Pepperidge Farm cookie flavors.

Cookie dough is so quick and easy to mix up and freeze yourself.  You can make double batches and easily have a large quantity.   You have to be very busy or lazy to buy it.

Not everyone has the desire to bake!!  Everyone has something they are not interested or skilled to do!!  I love baking and even for me it is often not what I want to do or have the time.  Also some just do not have the baking ability and no matter how much they try their cookies are not very good  using the same recipes others   do!  We all have something we are bad at or do not have the desire to do!!

David's cookies are expensive if comparing to homemade from scratch, but less expensive than buying from a bakery.

@LizzieInSRQ During the facebooks chats during his ITKWD shows some comments will mention that they thought he was involved with David's Cookies.

Does anyone else think $56 is a lot for cookie dough for 96 cookies? That's about $7 a dozen. Nestle Cookie dough is about $2.50 a dozen and they're delicious.

Yes, it's a lot when you put it like that.  Nestle's cookies are pretty small, aren't they?  I wonder how big David's cookies are.

@colleena   Yes.  Also, there was a poster here on this forum that thought they were David Venable's cookies.  That came up about a year ago.

That's why for the past several months, David has added his disclaimer to every presentation he does of David's Cookies.  He never used to do that.  I guess it finally got back to him about the confusion as well.

I think people like the convenience.  It's worth the price for that.
