Hi All.  Was wondering if any of you bought the Bethlehem Lights Touch pillar candles last year???  I see they are onsale and was considering them for a holiday decoration that needs a candle.  Several years ago, I bought holiday colors in the Mirage candles.  They only lasted 2 seasons (and I only used them during the holidays) and then last year they died out on me.  The BL ones got some mixed reviews but they are relatively inexpensive as far as flameless candles so thought they might be a good replacement since they are mostly seasonal use for me.  Does anyone have any input??

Other than that, I really haven't seen much I'm overly interested in yet. Like most of you, I suspect the bulk of the interest will come in two weeks.  Will be watching on and off today anyway as I'm cleaning the house just to see what's introduced.

@MTH, I have these

in the Sand color.  I bought them as-is last year.  Although my next BL Touch Candle purchase will be the newer type with the flame that actually moves, like Luminaras, I think the current price of $22 and free shipping is an awesome deal on these.

I can really only think of one negative.  They do not glow as brightly, not nearly as brightly, as my other brands.  The battery life is insane.  It was months and months before I had to put in new batteries.  I think they lasted much longer than was stated.  I really like the rustic texture of the wax.

That's terrible about your Mirage candles.  I have two original Mirage which are just ok.  I'm crazy about the new Mirage Gold line, though, and am on the lookout for some more of them.  I hope your experience is not the norm.  I will not be happy if any of my candles croak after such limited use.

FWIW I like my original BL Touch candles much more than I like my original Mirage candles.  I'm referring to how the lights make the moving flame pattern appear on the stationary flame tip.

@MTH

I bought the BL touch candles, and I like them a lot.

I got both sizes, use them all year and have had no problems with them. I even got the newer linen look ones too.

Sorry the Mirage didn't work out for you. I have a ton of those and Luminara, and honestly I've had very little issues with any of the brands. I've lost one or two Luminaras over the years, and that is it.

I do rotate my candles a lot, but some stay out for a year or more at a time, and I have to say, I really think I'm getting my money's worth.

Some people have posted here that they have trouble with all the brands of flameless candles. I suppose like everything else made today, it is a bit of a ****** shoot if we get a good batch or not.

Re: Countdown to Christmas In July!

@Mominohio @SHOPR Thanks for the info.  I kinda was thinking that it was a great deal at almost half price and free shipping. Might just take a chance on them.  I didn't have any issues with the Mirage ones when I bought them, but I didn't think 2 holiday seasons was asking all that much.  My Luminaras are still going strong as are a set of 5 Candle Impressions flameless pillars that I bought years ago and which stay out all year long.  Thanks for the advice.

I have the BL touch candles in the linen finish and love them. I don’t remember when I put the batteries in, but they seem to have lasted awhile! They are pretty, I like the flame movement, and it’s pretty neat you can blow them out. I have the grey, green, and lavender. I want to get the ivory too.

Just an FYI, I just checked my order history, I paid $52 for the shorter ones and $62 for the taller ones. I’m not sure if those were sale prices or not, but I’m guessing they jacked up the price and then put them on clearance.

@crazycockermom  Thanks for the info. The sale price is $22 for the set of 2 5" ones and $27 for the 7" ones both with free shipping so that really is a good deal.  If you are inthe market for any additional ones, you might want to check them out.  The only thing about the clearance is that they are limited in colors.

Maybe I’m talking about different candles. I have H213936 and H213937. Sorry!

@crazycockermom  These are under a different item number but not sure what is different about them.  There is not a remote witht he ones I was looking at.  The price surely is different tho.  I'd really have to re-read the description to see why.  I do still appreciate the input on how BL performs overall.

@MTH, It does get confusing the way CI and BL have introduced their own versions of the white plastic flame tipped candles and then each company improved them and changed up their technology.

The clearance and free shipping set of BL Touch candles that you are looking at will have a plastic flame that does not move at all, just like the Mirage original candles are made.  They have LEDs inside that create a lot of random flicker patterns that project up onto the plastic flame.  They are going to be very similar to the original Mirage except IMO their flicker patterns are more realistic (less blinking back and forth) than the original Mirage.

The newer BL Touch Moving Flame candles (they have Moving Flame in the title, the linen ones @crazycockermom has) appear to be just like Luminaras and have the plastic flame tip that actually moves around.  I don't own these but I would like to get a set.

And just to clarify about the newest Mirage "Gold" technology candles, the ones I just got from Amazon, their flame tip still does not move around, but the technlology inside is pretty cool.  A clear lens down inside is suspended in front of the imbedded LED and that creates a quite realistic moving pattern that shines up onto the plastic flame. These are my new favorites, I think.

Re: Countdown to Christmas In July!

@SHOPR  Hey there....nice to finally connect with you on some things. Thanks for the info on the candles. I will have to check out the BL ones you ordered from Amazon just to see the difference, but  I think I'll take a chance on these too.  Since they will be in a hurricane, I think they will be fine. The hurricane is clear so you will be able to see the color so i wanted red.  The battery life is insane so I may be able to use them thru to Valentine's Day somewhere.

Re: Countdown to Christmas In July!

@MTH I have had the Mirage candle sticks since they introduced them, and they have been great! They last as long if not longer than the Luminara. I have not tried the Touch candles.
