I have to say, after going back this morning and looking at the prices of the things I ordered for CIJ and those I wanted but didn't get off the fence about, the pricing increases were pretty high on many things.

Some things went up just a couple of dollars, but many were in the $5 to $7 increase range.

So if doing a lot of buying, there was much to be saved. For many things, it was like getting free shipping when comparing the new higher prices.

So for those that just won't abide shopping for holiday decor and items this time of year, have fun paying the extra. I'm really happy with my choices this year, and the savings and selection from shopping early.

Re: CIJ special event pricing

Yep. I got what I knew I wanted. Items I was unsure about I will reconsider if I find them as-is or if there is another free shipping day. I couldn't get everything I wanted even if I knew the price would go up.

I am disappointed because I wanted some ivory magnolia items but they were sold out. Go back today and they are available... with a price increase of course.

Wow! Just noticed the price increase of the swans. Think it was about 8 dollars (I closed the window already).

@Mominohio  Great point.  I enjoy the summer too but I know the holiday season is coming and I want to be prepared.  I shop and buy all year, doesn't mean I don't find time to do summer things but Christmas is always in the back of my mind.  If I see something I like for Christmas I don't think about what month of the year I'm in, I get it.  This is Holiday Forum, it's what we do.  Smiley Happy

Re: CIJ special event pricing

After last nights problems with QVC's website overload I did manage to get JimShore's White Woodland Snowman which is up $10 today and I also got the Slatkin diffuser with the scents. That went up $2. I got so much last year that I have no more room anymore. Then again it's only August lol

Yay, it would be nice if they would extend the prices a little longer.

I wasn't able to order anything last night with the issues the site was having. I gave up after a while.

Maybe that's a good thing LOL!

Yep @ChiliPepper, I don't know whether to be grateful or ticked off!

I know these 'glitches' are happening every time there is a big event. And I am getting rather tired of it. When this stuff happens, they are loosing tons of money and irritating many customers. The least they could do is extend the event pricing another day so those that were locked out of getting what they needed, still had a chance to do so.

@Mominohio  I think Christmas items should remain at the sale price until Christmas, but maybe the theory is that the frenzy, knowing the prices will go up, makes people shop more than if the price remained the same for the rest of the year.

@mousiegirl

I think you are right. Those 'temporary' lower prices do feed a frenzy of buying (just really glad I'm not a participant in that!!! LOL)

And then people who kind of mull things over and go back in the next month or two, still want the things, and pay the higher price anyway, not to mention those that never saw the items at the lower price because they won't watch/shop holiday this time of year, they too will pay more on down the road.

Those of us savvy enough shop early and shop often, then sit back and wait for the 'as is' to roll in. We have a system, don't ya know!
