@stevieb Not to burst any bubbles, but I didn't like Coach's leather olive tones when I saw them in store. The canvas and nylon color was spot on, but in the leather, it was drab or an off-green olive. Just my two cents. You might want to check out in person.

I agree, @Serendipity. To me, their olive leather has an ashen, grayish cast. This convinced me to pass up a style l loved at their outlet store-- the Edie. I ultimately wound up with a Brahmin olive tote from the Bay.

And speaking of the Coach Edie bag, perhaps you should check it out, @EdithEllenLily, since it is your namesake! It's great if you like several compartments. I have it in grey fabric, but haven't used it yet. It folds up almost like an accordion, with a zipper in the center.

@Serendipity..yes I ordered a small Metro in Navy. Have wanted a black, navy and a bright color Metro for a while. Decided to just go with Navy. Also got a keychain in neon blue with silver. May give to my niece or keep for myself.

By the way, went to my mother's for Thanksgiving and she has the Dooney TSV, Brenna in elephant. GORGEOUS! I want one so badly but, it's not as secure as I would like. I take the subway everywhere and zip top is a must for me. The bag is sooooo pretty and the leather is divine. She wore in the rain and no water spots on trim either.

@foo foo shi shi That's great! The navy color looks great. I've thinking of the black laquer one but it's not on sale, so ... also eying the savoy. And that kamo mushroom you pointed out. Smiley Happy It's tough with the Brenna being so open. Was it heavy? Nice that rain didn't affect it. By the way, do you think pink lava has some red in it?

I really love the black lacquer small Metro. It's perfect in that size. I think I remember seeing someone post on the Purse Forum that they add one of their black crossbody staps on the large Savoy and use it as a small crossbody bag.

The top on the Brenna is all magnetic snaps. They're very stong so items are secure by not as secure as with a zip. And I wouldn't change a thing about the bag closures. The bag is not very heavy. It just feels substantial but not as heavy to me as say, florentine satchel.

Pink lava has some red tones. It's beautiful.

@foo foo shi shi: Since you love that Brenna so much, have you thought of getting a purse organizer with a zipper on top? That would make the magnetic-closure bag more secure on the subway. The perp would have to lift out the entire item at once, which doesn't seem likely. Although the temptation might still be there...

Re: Satchel Santas, Ho-Ho-Hobos and Other Indulgences Y'all... 4Q-2015

I've been thinking-- l'm not in the same league as many of you as far as diversity of brands. There are several handbag brands (of the fairly reasonably-priced variety) that l do not yet own. These would include (but are not limited to): Aimee Kestenberg, orYany, GILI, Tory Burch, Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, Rebecca Minkoff, and Kooba.

So l've got some catchin' up to do in 2016!!

Handy @handygal2 it's a Burberry sort of satchel/tote I was lusting after for months last year and was the object of my affection when the 'new' boards allowed selection of an avatar... No, I don't own it, and at this point, while I still like it a lot, it's not my favorite bag of all time. In fact, I've been thinking it's probably time to change my avatar but not so high on the ole prioirty list of things to do...

@handygal2, Not a bad idea. I bet my husband would get as a Christmas gift for me if I asked. He really liked my mom's bag. Problem is, I am currently loving my MZW bags for their functionality so much that I have not been using my othe bags. I would hate to add another to the stash. Maybe my mother will let me take hers for a spin this weekend for an hour or two to help me decide.

Well @handygal2, I don't personally think you're missing a thing not owning a Kestenberg and not missing much by not owning a Gili or even an oryany... I do like Cole Haan and Minkoff makes a good bag, as does Kooba. I happen to like Kenneth Cole's nicer line, and even find some of his pleather line appealing. Have to say, I don't own a Tory either. Price wise, I think she and Minkoff are generally a step up from the others you mention.  Now, as for catching up in the coming year, I'd caution you to pace yourself, rememberingwhat happens to handbag addicts who can't control their ways... You have SO many prime examples right here...

Edith, I really like donuts.

The ones that have chocolate on top and filled with vanilla pudding. Please??

For heaven's sake, what is this Mel's diner? She said she'd bring chocolate, who said anything about a variety pack of donuts...? Sister, @Sister Golden Hair, you best behave... And you too @Serendipity and your Swiss chocolate (though they ARE both really good)... I like cruellers too...
