You are right @stevieb...I never wanted children...I like them, and I love being an aunt, but it's just not for me and I know it... Yes, we are all handbag sisters!!! Woman Very Happy P.S. It's a winter wonderland outside here...we had a very wet snow last night and I see part of it is already melting because our ground was warm. I am so not ready for snow yet!!! Woman Surprised Enjoy your day, EEL Heart

Well @EdithEllenLily, you're a better woman than I, because I can't even say I enjoy many of them, but so be it... I envy you the early snow, but the last two days here have been far nicer than earllier in the week. It's been bright, sunny and cool... There would appear to be no actual cold weather in sight, but I'll take the crisp and cool anytime over the dank and muggy.

We GOT NAILED with SNOW @stevieb!!! Oh man, it was a blizzard driving back from my Mom's a couple of hours ago. It was coming down at two inches per hour for two hours, and we have nine inches so far. It's finally slowing down after snowing constantly since last night around 8 p.m. Beause I am still hobbling around after stubbing my second toe on my right foot buddy two weeks ago on the wooden leg of an ottoman, Mr. Lily took pity on me and drove me over to Mom's this morning. Then he came back after I finished my usual work there to pick me up. We needed some Wendy's so we stopped there for lunch and then drove home in the worst of it. Rather shocking for the first snowfall. Now Mr. L will go out with the snowblower to plow out our long driveway. I'm staying inside until tomorrow!!! Woman Surprised I know you're missing snow, but I don't think you would like this much of it to start! It was a heavy, wet snow...quite pretty, though, for our winter wonderland.

@EdithEllenLily  EEL, apparently lots of places out in the Heartland and plains got nailed. And while, no, I probably wouldn't choose to kick off the season with that much, I guess I'd take it where I can get it. Of course, the downside to snow here is it's not managed well no matter what we get. There's a media frenzy, they frighten people needlessly, the stores are jammed, they close schools at the drop of a hat and if there actually is snow, few can navigate it.  Still, I like it and love to have it around Christmas, which we rarely do. At least it's very chilly and a bit blustery out today, so even though there was no snow, at least it felt like it's supposed to feel at this time of year.

I'd note @EdithEllenLily that had the DC region been hit with eleven or so inches of snow, it would have likely shut down, so kudos to those of you who are able to cope and not let it stop you in your tracks !! It's so lame here...

That's good it's getting chilly where you are, stevieb @stevieb. We need fall BEFORE winter!!! Plus, it helps a person get into the holiday mode more easily. I cannot believe it's almost Thanksgiving...I feel like I have so much to do and it will not get done, but I know it will. Just catching up on all of the laundry this afternoon made me feel more settled.

Your description of the media frenzy getting everyone freaked out about upcoming weather reminds me of a wedding I attended once in Atlanta. It was in March, and there was a few inches of snow coming down the night before the wedding. Everyone panicked and the wedding was RESCHEDULED for a day after the original wedding date! I guess no one minded...the church, the caterer, the wedding hall...they all wanted to stay home the day after the snow! My sister and I added another night to our hotel stay so we could be at the wedding, and coming from Michigan where a few inches of snow is nothing we found the whole thing quite humorous.

See, this is exactly what I mean... Shameful !!

Yes SGH @Sister Golden Hair, it was the worst November snow in 100 years in Chicago! AND, it's supposed to be 8 degrees overnight!!! Brrrrrr and what a nightmare. All of the slushy mess will freeze and be hard to drive over and slippery, too. We don't have to go out until lunchtime tomorrow, so we hope it will be better by then.

Oh, goodness! It's way too early in the season for that much snow!! :-(

I agree @handygal2!!! Driving home earlier today it was like a blizzard. You couldn't see but just a few feet in front of you! And there were so many people out driving around!

Buy any bags lately @EdithEllenLily? Honestly, the only thing that's sort of tempted me is one of the 'pseudo' Versace bags... You know, the cheaper pleather version of a Versace bag but made by Versace... Otherwise, I'm just not seeing anything... And even with that one, I waited too long, so the ones I like best are gone. I have an HSN coupon (kudos to them because we all know I haven't gotten jack... from the Q) but darned if I can even find anything I want badly enough to use it...

@stevieb I like those Versace bags, stevieb! I've seen 'em...you know I scour all of those emails we get! Woman Wink I've thought about this camel colored double-level jewelry box from Colleen L. on HSN. Have you ever watched her sell jewelry? She's so smooth...almost hypnotizing, going from one piece to another. I have to not watch her or I'm in trouble.

In regard to your question, yes, I did buy some Vera Bradley bags on zulily yesterday. The Pleated Tote is being discontinued and they had two I liked marked down. I also bought some accessories and a laptop backpack and wallet set in the Ribbons pattern. I don't have many cousins, so when their daughters graduate from high school, we give them a Vera Bradley backpack and wallet with some money as they trot off to college!

Oh the Feds call liberal leave or shut down almost as quickly as the schools do... It often seems precipitous to me, even as badly as the jurisdictions and the drivers handle snow around here.

Well @EdithEllenLily the Maxx had a Versace pleather bag I liked alot and in two colors. Procrastinator that I am, they're both gone now. Actually, it's not always procrastinating these days, as I'm just trying to avoid temptation. MH also had one I sort of like in both brown and black, but the black was my choice and it sold out. The brown is back, but there's another site that has all the color options and for less,. Not a site I've heard of before though. It's probably reputable, but I'm always reluctant. Any experience with chicmarket.com? The Maxx's prices were so much better than MH for this brand too. Actually, I'm sort of thinking MH isn't all that these days.
