Re: Red Christmas purse

[ Edited ]

I love the "idea" of a red bag for the holiday season, but the problem is most of my clothing doesn't really work with a red bag.

I do have two red bags, however, and try to use them as often as possible during the season.

Sometimes I have to adjust what I choose to wear. Easy for me in my casual dress retiree life. This morning I looked at the t shirts in my drawer and dug down to find a grey one so  I didn't have to change out my red purse. Not that I couldn't change out my purse but I'm lazy.

@151949  On the contrary, I find the red bag goes with my navy, black, and even purple pants or shirts.  I did not think, at first, that I would be able to carry the red bag with so many colors, but I can.  The only hesitation I would have is in wearing it with my browns, so I probably won't.

Think about the color wheel. If you mix red with blue, you get purple.  I actually like the red bag with purples.

Love a red bag and no better time that Chirstmas to carry one.

How nice to honor your Mom and Grandmom and carry on their style.

I have a cotton coated Dooney that is red plaid, with matching wallet. I am going to change into it tomorrow after reading this thread. Love red plaid. I believe Dooney calls it Tartan. It is a pretty handbag.

I use a red purse whenever my outfit calls for it.  I have a tapestry purse with a Christmas scene on it that I use often throughout the Christmas season.

@Tissyanne Dooney's tartan is so pretty. It's even better in person.

@Tissyanne - what a beautiful bag! I love red too - it's one of my favorite colors, but I'll probably be carrying my dark green Tig for a while. Smiley Happy

I think this is the Campbell clan plaid. My BFF's maiden name was Mac Quarrie and I've always loved her clan's plaid which is similar to Campbell.

This morning to go to church I wore a Christmas sweater (A296580 in grey). I expected to get some comments on the Christmas sweater but I didn't. Instead I got compliments on my red purse.
