I could sign my name to @beach-mom !! I'm the same way, on my shoulder unless I'm at a craft fair or something similar.  I love clutch bags and often carry them to an evening event but it must have a chain strap that I can loop over my chair. I just hate to put my bag on the table.

It depends on what I am doing.  90% I do carry over the shoulder.  If I am going to a craft show, winery, sight seeing or to watch a game, I will carry a smaller bag crossbody.  I tend to carry a clutch if I am going somewhere fancy like a wedding or to dinner.

Crossbody or shoulder. I only carry small bags and don't carry anything that isn't necessary so it's lightweight. Phone, keys and cards all all I really need on a daily basis. I've never in my life carried a bag as a clutch.

I buy only crossbodies. My favorites are Brahmin. They are lighweight and comfortable to carry. The one I'm using this fall/winter is 11 years old and looks like new.

It depends mostly on my mood, season and which handbag I like most in the moment. I never do crossbody as it looks very unatractive cutting across me. During the summer, I enjoyed carrying by hand a Dooney Florentine satchel. This fall I am sporting a suede hobo by Free People and I adore it! It melts to my body and makes movement so easy. I highly recommend.

I love a Shoulder Bag with a comfort strap & its a plus if it comes with a Crossbody Strap. When I am shopping at the mall, I wear a lightweight Crossbody or for Grocery shopping. Going out to lunch, dinner or Appt. my preference is a Shoulder Bag. When I have gone to any special event, wedding etc. which is not as often as yrs. past, I always wore a clutch. The Clutch's are more like a mini-bag & have a  chain on top of the bag which can be hung over a chair. I have a beautiful jewel beaded white clutch that I wore on my wedding day many years ago & still in perfect condition. My daughter wore it on her wedding day & will be passed down to my Grandaughter in the future.

It depends upon the style of the bag. If it's a satchel, I love to carry it on the crook of my arm/close to the inside of the elbow. If it's a tote, on my shoulder. If it's a Crossbody, then of course across your chest. If it's a clutch, it looks most elegant, holding it in your hand because of the style and the size of the bag.

On my shoulder.  However, I purchased a cheaper crossbody for when I'm grocery shopping and am not as focused on my purse.  I always locked it in the child seat of my cart but somebody could still open it quickly, reach in and grab my wallet so I went to the crossbody.
