I've exhausted my Google skills.  I would appreciate any help.  They're tiny little buds/flowers in clusters.  Thanks.

My guess is stonecrop, a type of sedum.  Seeing more of the plant would help.

It looks like purple milkweed (wonderful for monarchs and swallowtails!) or autumn fire stonecrop. Do you have a clear picture of the leaves?

Thanks for your help.  I researched sedum/stonecrop and that's what it looks like.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of the leaves.  I was so capitvated by the buds that I put my focus there.  I'll have to get a photo of the whole plant next time. Thanks so much.

@cotton4me  I can tell by the flowers and by the stems that it is a sedum.

It could also be Pentas. The five sided flower is a bit of a clue there. Both Pentas and Sedum have five sided flowers however so it could be either. The foliage would be the give away.

It's sedum because pentas are missing that center bulge in each flower -- they have thin stamens in the centers,

I agree, it's sedum/stonecrop. I actually have those in my garden.
