Re: Lakeside changes

[ Edited ]

@Kachina624  I am having company this weekend.  I put extra blankets on the beds.  It has turned sharply cooler here.  I have begun Fall cleanup in the gardens.  I am still swimming daily for now.  I am the last one in the lake every year.  LM

PS, the beaver is eying up the changes lakeside.  He leaves each summer and returns when we aren't there duly in the Fall.

@Lilysmom1 ...I saw the news, Your area got hit hard with Fiona.   Let us know, how everything is, if you have power/phones on.  We in Florida are preparing for Ian expected to hit Wednesday through Friday...here we go...again 😑

@Dazlin , we came through the hurricane very well.  We lost an Apple tree and some limbs but that is all.  Power was out for 24 hours.  The devastation is real in other areas however.  Northern Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, Prince Edward Island and south coast Newfoundland got hammered.

in Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland storm surge took 20 coastal homes.  One woman was rescued from the sea, another lost after she took shelter in her basement.  All around, Roads washed out, much tree damage, poles down.

Fiona made landfall close to Cape Breton.  The military has been called in as a state of emergency has been declared.

Thankfully this time we were spared significant damage.  Dorian was dreadful for us.  Had to replace the roof and had five gigantic hardwood trees down.

My niece is in Cayman Islands watching out for Ian.

Praying for your safety.  LM

@Lilysmom1 , great you did well...im seeing the news and devastation there. Said it's the worst in history.

Today we start preparing everything, and ill be taking down feeders, and moving potted plants, and any lose items. I also cook things that we just re-heat.  We use the generator part of the day, then off at night.  I'm looking after my elderly parents, they're staying in their house. I also hope my daughter is able to keep my grandson with her...I dont need the extra worry and care.

We always lose power in my area...1st to lose it, last to get on. I'm trying to stay calm.
