I live in Cali too and have them year round.  I have 5 feeders in the front of my house.  Just love watching them!!  The only thing I don't like is the bees like them too!!

Pretty, but I prefer the kind with a perch.  They'll sit for a while and you can watch them.

I make my hummingbird juice with white sugar and water NO RED COLORING. The red color sold at the store is not good for them. The birds are not attracted to the color red, but manufacturers add the color so at the store you dont feel like you're buying a bottle of water.

 

Do not buy or use red suger water.
