Have you tried You Tube?  There's tons of information on their site.

I can relate.  I have a Greenworks trimmer that I couldn't figure out how to put new line on.  I looked it up on Youtube and it turned out to be easy.

I'm no help. Sorry.

I have no clue how to string a weedeater LOL!!! DH is pretty good at it.

I don't do that type of yard work. Never have never will.

I have mowed part of the yard one time. Never again.

I don't like being hot so you can't pay me to do this stuff.

@goldensrbest.  It's been 25 years since I used one but it seems I recall having trouble too, so I bout reels that were pre-loaded.

Re: Adding a new line ,on string trimmers

I had to do this last season because I loaned my easy trimmer (the one with the drop in cartridge) to my son. I looked it up on you tube. They may even have videos specific to to your make and model. I was sure it was going to be a failure but it turned out to be pretty easy. My husband thought I was a genius! Lol. Give it a try!

I forgot to add that if you try a couple of times and it still doesn't work abandon the project and get yourself a nice new trimmer. No shame in that!! Some DIY projects are not worth the aggravation!

Re: Adding a new line ,on string trimmers

The single-line trimmers aren't too bad. You just have to know which way to wrap the line on the spool. Get it wrong and it's easy to undo and wrap it the other way and you'll get it right. Some of the multi-line trimmers, become more challenging. Just be sure you get the right-sized line. They come in different sizes. A common size is 0.065" but there are many possible sizes out there. Your spool likely has a label on it somewhere telling you the right size to get.
