we have several people on Next Door making masks for free. I picked up one yesterday and its pretty. It is hot though but I wore it to the store. I have the paper ones that I bought for painting years ago but I like this one.

I ordered these from Lucky Brand the other day

5 PACK PLEATED COTTON FACE MASKS, NATURAL, productTileDesktop

What appealed to me about these was that if you bought a 5 pack ($25, free s/h) 5 were donated to those in need.  It seemed win-win to me.

This is one time I paid attention to emails from retailers Woman Very Happy

It wasn't long before Lucky Brand posted this:

"We just sold out of our first batch of 4,000 face masks, and donations are on their way to our community partners—thanks to customers like you.

The good news is we're working around the clock with our LA factory to make more. We’re only selling what we have to avoid long wait times, so when you place your order, you can rest easy that your face masks will arrive soon."

Hmmmm, I don't recall seeing "cute" on the CDC specifications.

But why not get "cute" masks if they fit the other specifications and we need to wear them?Smiley Happy

@RealtyGal2

I must be an exception to the “cute” rule. While I understand the need for masks and would rather see someone wearing them than not, I find the appearance of them, when worn by people in public, to be a bit of a shock to my system. The dark or bright ones jump out and alarm me for a second when I see them. I want my mask to be a solid, neutral color that blends in as much as possible.

@Bird mama  Those are so cute in denim color, thanks!  I just ordered some nice white cotton ones from Amazon. Pack of 6 with good reviews.  Got them today and very nice.

I can't breathe through the paper ones, they are hot,  and they also scratch and irritate my skin. The cotton is so soft.

@Pink123   I feel like I'm in limbo with the masks I ordered from Lucky Brand.  I placed the order last Friday morning, paid through paypal and received an order confirmation.  When I didn't hear anything by last night I checked my order status and they didn't know who I was and had no record of the order.  I sent an email and screen shot of the 'we don't know you' message on their website last night.  Today, the paypal payment went through so I'll give it a few more days and will hopefully hear something, lol.

@Bird mama  Oh no, I hope your order will be straightened out and you get them soon. Many shopping  sites have been a little weird lately. Please let us know when you receive and how you like them.

I made a couple from a LOGO t-shirt that I was going to donate. Really pretty tie/dyed fabric. Found instructions on Facebook. No sew. Rubber bands and staples.
